Kendall Ellis has made a stupendous comeback, and America couldn’t be happier. Soon after her antics at the US Olympic Trials 400-meter final dash, the entire country stood up to applaud her triumph. And joining the mass, fellow track and field sprinter Michael Norman has expressed his admiration for Ellis. Competing in the 400m discipline, Ellis clocked a personal best of 49.46s to clinch the pole position. With the win, she also cemented her place, grabbing a ticket for the Paris Olympics. 

Reflecting on Ellis’ immaculate performance, Michael Norman, in an interview with CITIUS MAG stated, “You guys do not understand how happy we were for her… I see her every day at practice, the hard workouts, the sacrifice, the painful days. I see everything. For her to finally PR after 6 years was spectacular.” Surely, it was an outing to remember for Kendall Ellis.

Even before she darted past her opponents in the finals, her semifinal shenanigans were also impressive. Ellis ran her first personal best clocking 49.81s to qualify for the finals. This was a special moment for the US sprinter as it was her first personal best run in six years. But this is not the only best thing about Ellis’ career. The US sprinter is already an Olympian with a gold medal in her kitty. She was a part of the 4x400m USA relay team that clinched first position in Tokyo. Surprisingly, amidst all the glory, Kendall Ellis almost got out of Paris contention.

Kendall Ellis almost got her Paris dreams dashed

June 22 went down as one of the best days of Kendall Ellis’ life. But it could well have been the worst! As Ellis was preparing to put behind the heartbreak of not qualifying for the individual event in Tokyo, she found herself locked. Yes, Kendall Ellis got locked inside a bathroom moments before her semifinal quest at Hayward Field in Oregon. Describing her situation inside, Ellis stated, “I was in there crying and sweating.”

Fortunately for her, luck dawned on Ellis as a kindhearted passerby happened to take notice of the situation. Without wasting much time, the person unlocked the door, much to the joy of Ellis. After her triumphant return, Ellis took to her X account to acknowledge the individual’s kind gesture. She wrote, “Also I got locked in the bathroom an hour before the race. s/o to the kind sir who managed to get me out because I was in there crying and sweating.” Thus, with luck seeming to be on her side, it will now be interesting to see how well can Kendall Ellis perform in Paris.
