Sha’Carri Richardson is proving that 2023 is her year. Ever since she made a comeback, she has been in amazing form, as she continues to clinch 100m gold medals one after the other. Throughout the 2023 racing season, she has only lost once in the 100m discipline. That loss came at the Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix against Saint Lucia’s sprinter Julien Alfred.

Apart from that, she has owned the women’s 100m division with wins in the U.S. Championships and more recently in Budapest against one of her toughest competitors Shericka Jackson. Coming into the 2023 Zurich Diamond League, Richardson continued with her winning ways as she dominated the 100m discipline once again.

With just one loss so far this year in the 100m event, Sha’Carri Richardson continued with her track domination as she ran the race in 10.88 seconds.

The fastest woman alive was no match for the speed of Richardson, but she still recorded her season-best time and secured a third-place finish with her 11.00 seconds.

Herah’s compatriot Natasha Morrison secured a second place by clocking the same time of 11.00 seconds. This run continues to maintain Richardson’s 100m division supremacy as she eyes an Olympic gold next.

According to an Olympics report, after her win Richardson said, “I am feeling really good being able to finish this season as fast as I can. I am definitely grateful, and I am excited with the way this season is going.”

The newly crowned world champion highlighted what helped her achieve all this success. Richardson emphasized that all her triumphs were only possible because of her training. This training involved her physical as well as mental training that not only helped her collect gold medals but also helped fuel her quests beyond the world championships.

American track star’s epic world championships debut

The 2023 World Athletics Championships were a debut for Sha’Carri Richardson. However, her performances indicated otherwise.

In her first-ever world championships, the American track queen won the 100m world title, a bronze medal with a personal best 200m time of 21.92 seconds, and helped the U.S. women’s 4x100m relay win gold as she anchored them to the finish line.
