As the world lights up for Halloween, costumes around the globe have been caught paying tribute to their favorite characters, heroes, and icons. This year, while film and pop stars were on the list, the sports community has found its way to the costume inspiration section. And even better, not just any section of sports but track and field! One of the few to make it to this section of inspiration is Tara Davis-Woodhall. But as expected, she is not the only one!
Tara’s husband, Hunter Woodhall, has also made it to the Halloween inspiration. The couple, of course, since the Paris Olympics, have become one of the most celebrated duo, especially since the moment when Tara went on to win gold in the long jump, and the first she did was run into Hunter’s arms. The moment melted hearts around the globe. And then came the coveted Paralympics, where Hunter was all set to run. Hunter ran the 400m T62 event and went on to win Gold. Thus officially making them the Olympic-paralympic duo. However, the emotions of the new development seem to be an equally strong one.
While this seems like just another facet of fame, it meant much more to the Olympic-paralympic duo. For Tara Davis-Woodhall, this was a very emotional moment. So much so that she took it to threads and wrote, “Seeing all of yall dressed up as Hunter and I has brought literal tears to my eyes. I can’t believe the impact we’ve made on this world.” Settle in Tara and Hunter because this seems to be just the beginning. They are, after all, now a symbol of both love and resilience. However, their relationship is not just built on glorious wins and Halloween costumes.

It is instead built on the strong foundation of love and unconditional support. As Tara herself puts it, “Everyone’s been telling me the whole world’s been seeing it, [but] that’s just Hunter and I. He’s my biggest supporter, and I guess the whole world got to see how much he supports me.” And it showed after the Olympics! The two stayed refreshingly grounded despite all the media attention they garnered. This Halloween brought them back to the roots of why they do what they do. Inspire! And by the looks of it, they’re doing just that. However, while the change in recognition and status is huge, they are making an even bigger change to their lives.
A change in status is not the only change in the lives of the Woodhalls!
Just a few days before Halloween, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall reached another milestone. The two, after spending years in different cities, have finally moved into their new home together. Their new home is in Manhattan, Kansas. The fandom was super excited to see the transformation of their house into a home in their latest vlog titled “Moving into our new house.” This isn’t just any move, though. It is both a professional and personal one.

It is no secret that Tara Davis-Woodhall has been training with Travis Geopfert for a while now. He also happens to be Hunter Woodhall’s coach. And Travis Geopfert is no ordinary coach. He has been coaching at top schools like Tennessee and Northern Iowa for 22 years. Additionally, he has also won our National Assistant Coach of the Year awards in his 12 years at Arkansas alone! Now, that’s a track record worth following. And that is exactly what the Olympic-paralympic duo did.
Travis Geopfert is taking up a new coaching position at Kansas State University, and the Woodhalls have decided to follow. Tara herself is joining Kansas State as an assistant coach. That’s a new chapter in all three of their lives. Since meeting at a track meet in 2017, the couple has built a life together through long distances, late nights, and years of dedication. Now, as the two move in together and train together, all arrows point towards both Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall, coming back stronger than ever. Maybe another Olympics and Paralympics? The fandom and world will have to wait and watch.
