Additionally, Sears’s will to strive and seize her opportunity has been inspired by her mother’s unfulfilled goals. Following the divorce of her parents, Sears’ mother raised Jacious and her sister by herself. Sears was greatly affected by the sacrifices and tough duties that characterized this time in their lives.

She’s been through so much. After her divorce with my dad, she took care of me and my sister by herself. I really just want to make her proud. Witnessing the struggle, Jacious Sears has her eyes on making a big move. The 22-year-old with huge dreams stated, I want to make her feel that the hard work she put into us is paying off. This season, Sears has played an unbelievable game. In addition to shattering her previous personal best, her 10.77-second race in the 100 m category at the 2024 Tom Jones Memorial put her among the fastest women in the world. Surprisingly, it was just 0.02 seconds away from the historic mark created by the current 100m world champ Sha’Carri Richardson in 2019.

Reflecting on the race, Jacious Sears noted Richardsons’ pace and got more inspired. In a conversation, Sears mentioned, She ran that race beautifully & I pray to God that I can run my next few races beautifully and PR even more.
