In a recent heartfelt post on X, Edose Ibadin opened up about his upcoming championship where he will be competing in the 800m and 4x400m, expressed the depth of his emotions. He shared, Might be posting a lot but it’s been 5 years since I’ve run a world champs. Gonna soak it all in🙏🏾,” reflecting on the significance of this moment after a prolonged absence from such a prestigious event. It’s poignant to recall that in 2019, he clinched victory in this very championship, adding layers of anticipation and nostalgia to his return.

Additionally, joining Edose Ibadin in this event are several other Nigerian athletes, including Chukwuebuka Enekwechi in the Shot Put, Dubem Nwachukwu in 400m and 4x400m relay, Sikiru Adeyemi in the 4x400m relay, Chidi Okezie in the 4x400m relay, and Ese Brume in the Long Jump category. Additionally, what makes this roster particularly intriguing is Edose Ibadin’s participation, given his remarkable showcase of talent in 2019 when he emerged victorious.

Nigerian athlete shatters National record in stunning 800m dash

During the UA team trials in the United States, Nigerian athlete Edose Ibadin showcased his exceptional talent by clocking an impressive time of 1:44.81 over the 800m distance. This time stands as a National Record (NR) for Nigeria, elevating him to the second position on the 2020 Global Toplist, just behind World Champion Donavan Brazier.

Notably, in second place, Vincent Crisp achieved a time of 1:46.29, surpassing his personal best by two-hundredths of a second, while Prince Quamel from Guyana secured a third place with a time of 1:46.46, further highlighting the competitive nature of the event.
