In a recent Popsugar report, an editor reviewed the Nike Athlete House, created during the track and field trials to help runners recuperate and regroup. Nike athletes accessed the house to prepare, recover, and glam up before and after each event. Besides recovery devices, the house offered nail artists, hair stylists, and coloring books. Nike and Hyperice also introduced tech-enabled boots and vests to boost warm-up and recovery. Richardson, who won the 100m race with a time of 10.71s, used the boots and called them a “key part of my recovery before and after training sessions and races this spring.”

Sha’Carri Richardson has signed a $20M deal with Nike for five years, covering the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2028 LA Olympics. The contract includes a signature clothing line designed with Richardson, promoting inclusivity for women of all shapes and sizes. She also designed the track and field uniforms for the Paris Olympics.

Additionally, Richardson will advocate for mental health, participating in campaigns to raise awareness and destigmatize mental health issues. She is well-suited for this role, having faced significant setbacks herself but still rising back to life, akin to a phoenix from the ashes. After being dropped from the Tokyo Olympics for failing a drug test, she cited emotional turmoil following her birth mother’s death. With Nike providing her the solace and balm she needs, Richardson has been seen wearing Nike almost exclusively and is expected to continue the same during the Paris Olympics as well.
