Can Noah Lyles continue his winning streak at the Paris Diamond League? What are your predictions?

As the Olympic trials period is almost over, the qualified athletes are moving toward sharpening their skills for the upcoming heavy battle in the French capital. However, very few athletes among them have registered for the global contests before heading to Paris. The double-edged decision could give a better outcome based on the warming up. But it could also result in mental soreness. Noah Lyles is not ready to think that way. Rather, he wants to utilize the remaining twenty-odd days by contesting more races.

In that way, the Paris Diamond League could be his chance to show up on the French track before the actual Olympics. To his merriment, the Diamond League holds the 200m race, whom he calls his ‘wife’. But will he participate?

Last time the Paris Diamond League witnessed Noah Lyles’ contest with Marcell Jacobs in the 100m event. The fight found a special headline as it was touted as the battle Royale between the 2022 world champion and the 2021 Tokyo Olympics champion. This time, the audience will have to be deprived of watching such a heavy game as both Noah and Marcell are not taking part in the 2024 Paris Diamond League. As the published list shows, this occasion of the Paris Diamond League does not have a 100m event in the men’s category. Rather, the 200m event will host names like Jerome Blake and Cheickna Traore. Yet Noah’s fans should not worry much.

The American record holder will run in the next two Diamond League occasions, in Monaco and London. Whereas in Monaco, Noah will enter the 200m event being the meet record holder, in London he will surely chase Christian Taylor and Renaud Lavillenie’s record of holding the most number of Diamond Trophies (7). But to catch up with the record, the five-time Diamond League champion will have to cross the boundaries first in both Monaco and London.

Surprisingly, in both of those Diamond League contests, Noah Lyles will step in 200m and 100m events consecutively. Just weeks before the Paris Olympics, that should give an insight into the athlete’s preparation scene. However, in the French capital, Noah will be chasing for glory and he has already cleared the air in the process.

While securing his sprint-double qualifications, Noah Lyles pulled off extraordinary shows of athleticism. In the 100m trial final, he put the fourth global fastest time (9.83 seconds) in the season chart. The mood continued in the 200m final as he broke the 28-year-old meet record and set the world leading time (19.53 seconds). So what’s next for him in the coming days? Noah has himself answered this question.

On June 30, after earning his sprint double Olympic qualification, the six-time world champion said, “What do I got to do to be considered the greatest when I leave the sport?” The answer followed as, “Grabbing a world record is one of the two things that I still have left to do and one being, grabbing an Olympic gold and then two, grabbing a world record.. It’s just that I aim for being greatest.” Will he succeed in that endeavor? Let’s wait a few more weeks to know the answer.
