The field of sports has given the world some extraordinarily talented people. With their unique skills, they have succeeded in winning their fans’ hearts as well. For instance, the arena of Track and Field has brought the sprinting legend in the limelight, who is also the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt. The Jamaican track and field athlete came from a humble environment with no potential financial status to get enrolled in a sports academy.

Bolt’s early interests were cricket and soccer, and he was not aware of any other sports but he had an intrinsic talent for speed. His cricket coach noticed his speed and suggested Bolt try his leg in track and field sports. Along with numerous accolades, he is also an Olympics champion who broke and set various world records. Recently, Bolt interviewed with the Puma when he opened up his thought process about records and medals. 

Usain Bolt reveals his thoughts on world records

With the guidance of Fitz Coleman, Bolt turned into a professional, taking his lightning speed in sprinting to a top-notch stage. In 2004, he began his professional career with CARIFTA Games and then eventually became a pro, now considered a legend. Bolt set his first world record in 2008 for a 100m track and field race at Reebok Grand Prix in the Lcahn stadium in New York. According to the Olympics, with a time set of 9.72 seconds, he defeated fellow Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell’s world record of 9.74 secs.

The 11-time World champion also carved his name in the Guinness World Record book for setting the most world records, nineteen times. In the interview, when Bolt was asked about his perception of being such a great sprinter when he set his first world record. The sprinting king replied that his coach was not surprised but he was, and Bolt always believed that he is going to do well.

But it was not the world records that he was thinking about. Usain Bolt stated, “When I broke the world record, for me it was never about the world record. The first times I broke the world record, I wasn’t never thinking about it.” However, after setting the most world records and winning numerous titles and tournaments, Bolt surprisingly lost his last race in 2017.

The unforgettable 2017 World Athletics Championship

Usain Bolt participated in World Athletics Championships in the 4X100 meter relay which was held at the London Olympics stadium. But unfortunately in the middle of the race, Bolt suffered a hamstring injury causing him to struggle in running. He did not win the championships and finished in third place, shortly after that the track and field legend announced his retirement. He began to focus on his health and stated, “It’s tough you know, but I think through the years I’ve competed it has helped me to understand and focus on what matters.”

The athlete said, when he landed on the track to start the competition, he saw massive Jamaican fans were there to support him, which motivated Bolt to win. He revealed that he did not even look at the clock, he merely focused on the medals to make his people proud. Well, there was this time when Bolt did not know that there are other sports as well besides cricket and soccer. And now there is this time when millions of people are aware of track and field because of the name, Usain Bolt. He is a living legend and an inspiration who motivates his fans both on and off the field.
