Legendary track and field star Usain Bolt is the epitome of lightning speed. Famously known as “Lightning Bolt” the fastest runner in the world has many accolades under his umbrella. So much so, that he frequently celebrates the anniversary of his magnificent records. Today, on May 31, Bolt celebrated one of his most outstanding performances – his 2008’s 100 meters race at the Reebok Grand Prix.
Recently, Bolt took to his Twitter to share the mind-boggling video of his iconic race on May 31, 2008. Besides him, his fans too gushed over the retired athlete and congratulated him for his legendary achievement.

In his latest Twitter post, Bolt shared a video of his iconic world record moment from 2008 with the caption, “On May 31, 2008 #FactsnotOpinion” The video featured athletes taking their mark before the start of the race. As the whistle blew, they started running at impeccable speed at the Icahn Stadium in New York.
However, amongst all, Bolt took a sharp lead and stormed ahead of his competitors. Within a stunning time frame of 9.72 seconds, he sealed the race, creating a new world record in 100 meters category in that championship.

In his iconic endeavor, Bolt broked previous record holder Asafa Powell’s time by 0.2 seconds. He repeated his running spell the same year at the Beijing Olympics by completing the race in just 9.69 seconds. Nevertheless, he created an unbeatable record that still stands today. In the last 14 years, no athlete has succeeded in meeting, or breaking that mark.
Today, was the 15th anniversary of Bolt’s first-ever record-breaking endeavor. So, when he took his celebrations to Twitter, fans jumped for joy for their favorite athlete.
