Unconventional Voices of Track & Field shared the video on their Twitter handle with the caption, “OOUCH!!! Very Budapest-esque to finish up the ZurichDL.”

In the video footage, two athletes, Tasa Jiya from the Netherlands and Melissa Gutschmidt from Switzerland, were locked in a fierce sprint toward the finish line. The collision propelled the Swiss runner into a harrowing fall, landing with a tragic impact on her right arm, while the Dutch athlete evaded the fall.

This race was for the women’s 4×100 relay at the Diamond League. Jamile Samuel, N’Ketia Seedo, Marije van Hunenstijn, and Tasa Jiya from the Netherlands won the big prize (42.86 seconds). The Dutch runner crossed the finish line first, while the Swiss sprinter finished second with a slide into the finish line. The video of this recent incident is going viral on the internet, and fans are posting their reactions to the video.
