Eugene Amo-Dadzie was recently competing in the European Indoor Championships. Dadzie stood 14 overall and reached the semifinals of the 60m sprint. As he finished his journey in the championship, he talked with Athletics Weekly and shared his motivational story with them. In the Instagram video, Dadzie revealed, “I call myself the fastest accountant in the world.” As long before becoming a sprinter, he became a qualified chartered accountant. However, things changed when at 26, he started following his passion and entered athletics.

He said, “My story into the sports is a bit of a unique one, 26 when I started going to around 10.93 my first season. Last year I went 10.05, and honestly, I haven’t set any expectations, and just continue to ask what goes before me.”

Further in the clip, the sprinter gave a shout-out to his magnificent team, who has helped him improve and grow throughout his career. Moreover, he also shared that he has been pretty intelligent in his training. As he began his journey late, he cannot compare himself with the young athletes about 20-21 years of age. He works according to his wear and tear capacity without trying to match the young competitors. On the other hand, he also shared a message for everyone, inside or outside the track, who is hesitant to pursue their dreams.

While sharing the message, Dadzie said that people often doubt themselves because of growing age and if they can still do it or not. He expressed his thought and said, “If you have got a passion for something, go for it because, by conventional thinking and logical thinking, I shouldn’t be here. Anything is possible. So ya, that’s the big message for the people.”

As people watched this interview and heard the story of the British sprinter, they felt the inspiration surrounding them.
