Some weddings are memorable, but Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall’s big day? It was iconic and, more importantly, unforgettable! The Olympian-Paralympian duo might have won their Golds in 2024, but they tied the knot much before that. To be precise, the two got married on October 16, 2022. And the wedding itself was nothing short of a fairy tale!

It had dreamy pink hues and ever-enchanting detail planned to perfection. Recently, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall were on the talked-about Noah Lyles podcast, Beyond the Records. While the episode in itself was a goldmine of fun, Lyles has now put out a behind-the-scenes clip of the episode. And in the clips, Tara and Hunter went on to disclose some interesting details about their wedding. To be more precise, it’s safe to say that the fairy tale wedding was not cheap!

As Tara herself proudly puts it, “22 years old, and it was $150,000 with no parent help.” The wedding that came with the perfectly pink décor, blush baby’s breath, and gown floral appliqués added up to a total of $150,000. The dress that Tara wore itself reeked of luxury. It was a Galia Lahav creation that had floral details and mesh sleeves. It was pretty, perfect, and absolutely Tara. And the flowers?

The beautiful flowers that stood out in their wedding pictures, in fact, did take up a good chunk of the overall expenses. As Hunter puts it, “35k on flowers!” While that seems expensive, Tara Davis-Woodhall went on to justify why. “We had these O’Hara roses, which are like the most smelling roses you can find…. They were hanging from the ceiling,” added Tara. But that’s not all!

As Tara herself puts it, “Our venue smelled incredible!” Guess the 35k on the flowers was absolutely worth it! Well, yes and no, because soon Hunter Woodhall chimed in with a stroke of humility. He added, “It was expensive, though.” The D’Vine Grace Vineyard venue combined with the muted-rose stationery suite made the wedding nothing short of magical. So how did this magic begin?

The Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall journey began with a bold move on Tara’s part. It all started in 2017 at the Simplot Games. Hunter was running that day, and it just so happened to also be his 18th birthday. The announcer went on to mention his birthday. Tara heard it and then saw him. She then decided to walk up to him mid-track meet!

What she said next seemed like an eerie foreshadowing. “I don’t know why, but I just feel like I need to give you a hug,” were Tara’s words. That spontaneous hug? That’s where the story truly began. This was followed by their first date, a pizza night. However, that turned into a comedic test of sorts for Tara’s patience with the pizza taking over an hour to get delivered. But all banter aside, since then, the two have battled odds, opponents, and even controversies together. Even long distance has not kept them apart.

It is safe to say that Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall’s story is one for the books. And what’s even better? It has only just begun.
