With power-packed acceleration, agility, and sheer hard work, Christian Coleman has managed to grab quite a few medals. He is a 3x World Champion, 2x Diamond League champion, and 2x World Indoor Champion. Coleman considers himself the ‘greatest ever’, but also believes in taking one day at a time. “I try to just focus on the next practice, the next rep, the next meet and just try to improve and get better and better and the times will come,” he said.

Christian Coleman was born on 6th March 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia. The peak competitive age for elite athletes is between 25 to 30 years old. Right now, the 28-year-old is within the peak range for elite sprinters. He has been on the athletic journey for quite some time now, considering the fact that he comes from a sporting family.

He won the long jump in his age category at the Amateur Athletic Union Championships in 2007. Excelling in both football and track and field, he took an active part in sports and athletics throughout his high school and university days. Christian Coleman is a force to be reckoned with. In the 40 and 60-yard dash, Coleman is the World Record holder with 4.12 and 6.34, respectively. He also holds a personal best of 9.76 seconds in 100 m, and 19.85 seconds in 200 m. He even believes Usain Bolt‘s 100 m world record might fall soon!

Currently, Bolt holds the world record for being the fastest in the 100 m. The Jamaican’s record stands at 9.58, and Coleman feels breaking this record is almost within his grasp.

He told Olympics News “9.58 is obviously an extraordinary time but honestly I feel like it’s a lot of guys who are competing today who are not that far off, if the track gods see fit for it to happen. But it has to be perfect conditions, on the right day, the right competition and the right venue. If you’re focusing on running properly, like executing a good race, I feel like those types of magical moments happen.”

Only time will tell if Usain Bolt’s iconic record will ever be broken. But as Coleman states, it’s certainly possible.
