Thompson-Herah is determined to recover and get back to back as soon as possible. In a recent Instagram post, Elaine Thompson-Herah shared that she has been left devastated by such a setback but also shared that she would prioritize her health and would return to the track even stronger. She wrote, “I got back home with a strong mindset to keep pushing and prepare for my national trails another shot of my third Olympics but the leg wouldn’t allow me to… but I am willing to start over and keep working and to make full recovery and resume my track career. I am hurt and devastated to be missing the Olympic this year but at the end of the day it’s sports and my health comes first”

Thompson-Herah will be turning 32 in a few hours. With her birthday knocking the door on June 28, she also reflected on how it’s, “Not the birthday gift I was hoping for” Hoping for a stronger return she added, “But God whatever you have in store for me I will wait and I will still continue to work towards my goals that I haven’t achieved yet. I will be definitely watching hopefully from the stands and cheer my country Jamaica. I WILL BE BACK”.

Elaine Thompson-Herah’s exit from Paris Olympics has track and field community weeping

Elaine Thompson-Herah bagged two golds in the Rio Olympics in both the 100 and 200-meter dash and a silver in the 4×400 meter relay. And in the next, she landed in Jamaica with three gold medals from Tokyo for all three events. Thus the dreams and expectations of Jamaican fans were soaring high and were shattered in seconds on June 9, at the USATF New York Grand Prix.

Highlighting Elaine Thompson-Herah’s legendary status in track history and acknowledging her extraordinary achievements, one Instagram user added, “And you’ll be back, you’ve stamped your name in the history books and the journey continues. All will be well. Wishing you a speedy recovery champ ❤️”. The user tried to reassure that Elaine Thompson-Herah’s career is far from over despite the injury.

One fan tried to express her devotion and support for Thompson-Herah by stating that they’ll refrain from cheering until the Jamaican star has recovered fully to get back on track. Express heartfelt support and loyalty, the fan wrote, “Regrettably I will be out of the Olympics as a cheerleader as I will be resting my voice until my forever favorite sprinter has returned to the track, get well soon”.

With deep sorrow and disappointment in their heart over Elaine Thompson-Herah’s injury and subsequent withdrawal from the Paris Olympics, another netizen showered their sympathy and support. “my heart break in many pieces but I wish you a speedy recovery, champ ❤️”, wrote the fan.

With hope and belief in Elaine Thompson-Herah’s determination, one fan shared an optimistic thought as they wrote, “Minor setback for Major comeback ❤️❤️”. Despite her Achilles injury and withdrawal from the Paris Olympics, the fan sees this challenge as temporary and expects her to return even stronger.

Another fan has already started to root for the track phenomenon. The fan wrote, “A sad day in track and field! Next season 10.4 coming 👏” The comment reflected confidence that Elaine who already holds a personal best timing of 10.54 seconds will make a strong comeback, potentially running the 100 meters in an astonishing 10.4 seconds.
