Alexis Ohanian’s entrepreneurial mind worked in the right direction when he chose Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Thomas as the first athlete to sign the deal of Athlos NYC 2024. Hailing from Atlanta, the 27-year-old has a degree from prestigious Harvard University and a grab into the topic of public health. She performs her profession in the healthcare sector voluntarily, and meanwhile, she wins races as well.

At the Paris Olympics, Gabby Thomas snagged three gold medals, claiming the top class in the track and field bunch in Team USA. Her feat made her only the second American athlete (after Florence Griffith-Joyner in the Seoul Olympics) to bag at least three gold medals in a single Olympic. Those titles justify her being the face of the first women-only track contest. Ohanian must have guessed these events beforehand (pun intended). However, Thomas’s charismatic run has yet to stop. Rather, she is busy in the preparation for another star-filled show.

In the first season of Sprint, Gabby Thomas achieved the title, ‘Miss Harvard’. But this time, she will get her flowers, being the Olympic champion. As per the schedule, the next season of the Netflix-hosted show will premiere on November 13 this year. So, nowadays, the preparation is in full swing. Meanwhile, Thomas has introduced herself as a prominent face in the upcoming edition. In her latest Instagram post, the Olympian can be seen holding an electronic clapperboard, printed with her name and the tag of Sprint S2. With the so-called Dumb Slate of TV production, Gabby tried her cheeky pose, biting her tongue with one eye closed. That explains her fun while suiting for the production. After all, the upcoming season has so much for her.

As per the update, Sprint 2 will cover the Olympic trials and the main events in Paris. Additionally, it will provide space to more than 12 athletes who have strived to be great in the mentioned duration. Undoubtedly, Gabby Thomas is one of them. And it is not the end. The synopsis of Sprint 2 says, “We take an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the high stakes, and mental toughness of the sprinters who devote their entire lives to crossing the finish line in record time, where their professional futures are decided in just fractions of a second.” This means there will be an ample focus on the emotions Gabby Thomas lived through the Paris Olympics. After all, it includes her family.

The personal space will find a celebration

After the Paris Olympics, Gabby Thomas has yet to compete in any track event. However, she will be there in Icahn Stadium on September 26, taking her stride for the 200m event. But in the duration between the Olympics and Athlos NYC, she has spent a sizable chunk of time with her family. Ultimately, the phase has stood to be exceptional for her, living her moment away from any commitment to the contests. This family time has always added solace to her, as it did in Paris in some ways.

In the Paris Olympics, Gabby Thomas’s friends and family were present to cheer for her. She utilized that vibe by keeping her score 3-0 in the French capital. Furthermore, she enjoyed each of her minutes there. In her interaction with People, Thomas revealed, “I remember coming off of my 200m gold medal race and going straight to my mom, going straight to my coach and they understand what it takes to get there. You know, they know what it was every day, every hour, every minute. So to be able to have them, there was incredible.” Such behind-the-scenes moments might make a place in the upcoming installment of Sprint. If it does, that would be a treat for her fans. Isn’t it?
