Noah Lyles at NYFW—Is he redefining athlete fashion or just another celeb trying too hard?

The Olympians have taken over the New York Fashion Week. After finding success in Paris, Team USA’s stars have transitioned from the Olympic stage to the ramp. Yet, gold medalists such as Noah Lyles, Sunisa Lee, and Jordan Chiles look just as effortless as fashion icons as they do on the competitive stage.

While it started with Lyles, even his Olympian girlfriend Junelle Bromfield made her fashion show debut at the 2024 NYFW. For the first three days of the extravaganza, Lyles, Lee, and Chiles appeared separately, but on day four, the Olympians had more than one surprise for those in attendance.

The 27-year-old World and Olympic 100-meter champion announced that he received a last-minute invitation from the NYFW. The sprinter who bedazzled fans in Hugo Boss apparel last year at the Milan Fashion Week made an appearance at NYFW. “Me and Junelle are here. We’re about to head to our fitting for our first show,” Lyles said on social media ahead of the show.

“I got the news popped on me that I will be walking and not watching. So you’re now looking at the model Noah Lyles and a spectator, Junelle Bromfield,” added the Olympic gold medalist. Hours later, Noah Lyles made his debut in the Adidas SS25 collection. The outfit helped the champion show off his ripped physique, all the while staying true to his track and field roots.

Junelle Bromfield stepped out of the spectator seats and into the spotlight on day four of New York Fashion Week, stealing the show alongside Noah Lyles for DJ Steve Aoki’s exclusive clothing line. What made this runway moment even more iconic was the collaboration between Aoki’s Dim Mak Collection and Toei Animation, unveiling the highly anticipated Dim Mak x Toei Animation *One Piece* Spring/Summer 2025 collection.

Lyles, known for his love of anime classics like Yu-Gi-Oh and One Piece, was the perfect choice for this anime-inspired fashion debut. Strutting down the runway, Lyles rocked a green jacket and yellow cargo pants, each piece infused with nods to One Piece characters. The back of his jacket proudly displayed the slogan “Straw Man Crew,” a tribute to Luffy and the One Piece universe. His look was topped off with a dark magenta cap featuring the blue DMC logo, bringing a perfect blend of street style and shonen flair.

Not to be outshone, Bromfield dazzled in a sporty purple dress that carried its anime charm. While her ensemble was more understated than Lyles’, it still boasted One Piece graphics on both sleeves and the DMC logo front and center, giving off a chic yet playful vibe.

As the show wrapped up, the couple made a final appearance with Steve Aoki himself, walking out to roaring applause as One Piece scenes lit up the LED screens behind them. Lyles and Bromfield weren’t the only athletes bridging the gap between sports and fashion—gymnastics stars Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles also brought their game to the runway, making the night a celebration of athleticism and anime-inspired style.

Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield walked on the ramp with a unique and extravagant look. However, the Paris Olympics all-around gold medalist’s outfits were the opposites. Suni Lee made her NYFW debut wearing a black dress with floral motifs from Walmart Fashion’s exclusive Scoop lineup by designer Brandon Maxwell. Meanwhile, Chiles rocked stylish streetwear on day one.

However, on day four, Jordan Chiles switched it up. The 23-year-old gymnastics icon surprised fans by making her runway Kim Shui Spring 2025 ready-to-wear show at NYFW. Chiles sported a silver leotard-inspired dress with blue floral patterns. She paired it with white sneakers and intricately braided hair. However, even on the NYFS debut, Chiles didn’t forget her icon acrylic nails.

Jordan Chiles sported long, white acrylic nails at the Kim Shui. However, Suni Lee kept things even more simple. The former all-around Olympic champion wore a gray Prada jacket, that shared a design element with Chiles outfit; flowers. The Prada jacket sported incredibly detailed flowers. Lee paired the jacket with a navy blue top and a satin pink skirt, both of which had floral motifs.

So, from anime to flowers, Team USA’s triumphant Olympians rocked a variety of diverse looks on day four of the NYFW. With three more days to go, do you think others will join? Let us know in the comments.
