Sha’Carri Richardson is wishing herself luck as she prepares for the Paris Olympics 2024. Richardson has emerged as one of the biggest track and field athletes of the US by clinching the World Championship gold in 2023. Unfortunately, the sad demise of her mother back in 2021 pegged back her Olympic dreams significantly. Shattered by the sudden loss, Richardson took to smoking marijuana, after which she was banned from the US National Team.

Richardson later clarified that she did drugs in Oregon, where it was legal. Since then, her grandmother, who has predominantly raised Richardson, helped her compose herself. And now when the 24-year-old is waiting at the doorstep of another Olympics, Richardson sees her grandmother blessings as a necessary conduit.

Sha’Carri Richardson is all set to begin her Paris journey from April 6, at the Miramar Invitational. However, days before the event, Richardson posted a wholesome picture of her grandmother, Betty Harp, in her Instagram story that showcased the athlete’s love for her. Incidentally, the snap was a screenshot of Richardson’s wallpaper, and a closer look at the story would also reveal that it carried a deep meaning.

The screenshot was taken exactly at 11:11, and the number was significant. For the uninitiated, the number 11:11 is considered as a ‘master number’. It is also believed to be a source of enlightenment, insight, and intuition. Most people consider the number as a goodluck charm and usually make a wish after seeing the number.

Born to Shayaria Richardson, Sha’Carri has not opened up much on their relationship. However, her heavily intertwined relationship with her grandmother, Betty Harp, is wholesome. Harp played a significant part in raising Sha’Carri since childhood. It was her constant support that pushed the 24-year-old to pursue track and field. While reminiscing of her grandmother’s influence in her life, the athlete said, “Without them, there would be no me. Without my grandmother, there would be no Sha’Carri Richardson.
