She may have been a 0.15 second too late in the 100m finals, but the fire for a gold is still ablaze! Sha’Carri Richardson’s anchor leg in the women’s 4x100m relay heats was strong, sassy, and too speedy to be beaten. 41.94, her high-powered sprint cruised the baton past the finish line faster than any other country in the qualification round. Indeed, the American side looks charged up to re-claim their title, one that narrowly slipped in Tokyo. But for Richardson, it seems like a conquest for gold!
While her entire sprint looked like a million bucks, fans are going gaga over a particular bold gesture from the race. Just meters away from the finish line, Richardson glanced over her shoulder, to the right side. The German contender, Rebekka Hasse in the side lane was leading the anchor leg, but as Richardson turned on her ‘jet mode,‘ she blazed past her rival, giving her a cold stare meanwhile.
Wow! The way she looked at her before she passed her by. Sha’Carri is unreal! 😮💨pic.twitter.com/vpCdokcoou

One of them wrote, “It might be the greatest side-eye I’ve ever witnessed! 😳❤️” Indeed, from Noah Lyles to Oblique Seville, the cold glances seconds away from the finish eye are not new to the world of track and field. However, as per this fan, Sha’Carri Richardson might just be the new contender on that list. While to another buff, it seemed like a calculated move. “She looked over to see how much work she was gonna have to do…she saw it wasn’t much lol,” they wrote. Well, Richardson definitely had the upper hand!
The Olympic debutant’s 10.87 earlier this week led her to loose the gold to Julien Alfred in the 100m finals. Well, not everything leading up it was flawless though.
