The US Olympic Track and Field Trials will bear witness to yet for another Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman showdown in the semi-final of 200m on June 28. In the round 1, Lyles topped the chart with 20.10 seconds. While Erriyon Knighton was the runner-up with 20.15 seconds and Coleman ranked fourth with 20.30 seconds. Fans are now focusing their sights to witness the best of America run their limber feet out on Saturday!

Interestingly, Noah wasn’t the only Lyles to qualify for the 200m semi-finals at Eugene, Oregon! His younger brother, Josephus Lyles, finished 10th with 20.44 seconds to proceed to the next round. Both Lyles brothers will be up against each other in the Heat 3, vying for a spot in the Team USA for the Paris Olympics.

NBC’s Sports Director Travis Miller posted the participants and who they are going to compete against. “Noah Lyles is in the same 200m semi as Christian Coleman and his brother Josephus,” Miller wrote, pointing out Lyles being in the same heat as Coleman and his younger sibling.

While Noah Lyles has the best personal best (19.31 sec) against his Heat 3 competitors, only three others have a below 20 second personal best. Christian Coleman (19.85 sec), Robert Gregory (19.89 sec), and Josephus Lyles (19.93 sec) could be other guys to watch out for on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon. Fans are pretty excited about the upcoming showdown and their comments reflect the same tonality as well.

Fans lend in their two cents

On June 22, Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman first faced each other in round 1 of the 100m at the US Olympic Trials. “finna beat christian twice in a week,” a fan wrote. Lyles and Coleman will be up against each other for the third time this week. The former has already beaten the latter twice and could beat him a third time on June 28.

Considering Noah Lyles will face competition from Christian Coleman, his brother Josephus Lyles, and Robert Gregory in Heat 3, a fan, wrote, “It’s gonna be a blood bath.” While another fan wrote, “Wow… Awful “random” assignments… Probably should have shuffled and drawn again lol.”Erriyon Knighton’s competing in the Heat 1 on June 28, another fan noted, “Knighton will moonwalk to the final.” With a lot of bankable trust in the respective athletes, time will tell whose favor the odds will tilt to.

The semi-finals of 200m in the US Olympic Track and Field trials will see the fastest sprinters in America take on each other. A fan’s comment sums it up: “Bring on the drama!” While another fan curiously asked, “Sorry for a beginner question. How do they assign heats?” The aforementioned chart might seem complex to the uninitiated, but this above comment seemed valid considering the complexities prevailing in the track’s assigning systems based on points, performances and race tallies.
