On January 16, the sports world learned that Olympic legend Usain Bolt had lost $12.7 million in saving. The eight-time Olympic gold medalist had invested nearly $13 million with investment firm Stocks& Securities Limited. However, after the defrauding, Bolt’s lawyers announced he had only $12,000 in his account. The firm launched an investigation. Simultaneously, the Jamaican government also investigated the matter. However, the perpetrators have illuded the authorities. Since the incident, the athletics legend has made some cryptic Instagrams posts.

In his latest Instagram post, the father of three uploaded a picture of him from his sprinting days. In the picture, the Jamaican sprinting superstar is looking into the distance while biting on his necklace. A Christian Cross pendant is attached to the chain.

Earlier, the eight-time Olympic gold medalist uploaded the photo with the caption, “Days Like These!!!” However, the cryptic caption makes it unclear if Bolt is talking about the past or the present. While the presence of the Christian Cross suggests Bolt might be praying to god, he doesn’t explicitly mention if he is merely reminiscing.

The fans in the comments section told the legendary athlete not to lose faith. Fans have left comments like, “Prayers up bro.”, “God is in control.”, “Remember mankind failed you, but God never did.” and “Hold it King don’t back down.” This isn’t the first time the retired sprinter posted something cryptic. On January 22, he posted an image on Twitter.

Bolt posted an image of bookshelves stacked with books on law. Of the three rows of books, one row had multiple books titled All England Law Reports. Another row of books bore the title Laws of Jamaica. However, the Olympic gold medalist didn’t write a caption for the post. According to The Gleaner, more than 40 people have lost money in the scam.

The state of the investigation

The initial investigation to find the perpetrators yielded limited information for the Jamaican authorities. SSL failed to track the individual(s) responsible. While the Financial Services Commission implicated a former SSL employee, they couldn’t identify the individual. Former SSL CEOs also revealed they had no idea that Usain Bolt was a client.
