Getting your mojo back after a long battle with your inner demons is never easy. For Boise State track and field athlete and NCAA gold medalist Allie Ostrander, the climb back to the top was a steep one, but she’s finally looking to turn things around after being diagnosed with an acute eating disorder in 2021. And her fans can’t stop expressing their vehement support.

Only yesterday, the D1 cross country runner shared her ambition to make her return to the tracks at the upcoming World Cross Country Championships in Belgrade this weekend. And now, as Allie takes to social media to document her endeavor to overcome her plight, fans come in throngs to applaud her for her commendable gusto.

In a recent YouTube upload, Ostrander chronicled the last three years of her professional career: from being diagnosed with the disorder to finding back her path at the USATF Cross Country Championships, held in Richmond in January. “In this video, I recap the last 3 years of my life recovering from and eating disorder and pursuing my goals in professional running.“, reads the caption of the video.

While Allie didn’t manage a podium finish at the women’s 10k event, it showcased her determination to trample the adversities. “Running is a sport that I love so much, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy or I don’t question my career decisions.“, wrote the runner in the caption. In her video, Allie took special care to mention how her new coach Davide Roche stood beside her on every step of the way.

Fans hail Ostrander on her return

The video caught the attention of her large fanbase, who couldn’t stop congratulating Allie for her determination. “Tears filled my eyes watching the last montage. You’re such an inspiration, Allie“, wrote Bailey. Jeff also thinks Ostrander’s hurdles were significant and commented: “You battled demons that knocked you off your feet, and found a way to pursue your passion and build a better version of yourself.

Fiona also mentioned that Allie gave her the strength to forge through. “Watching you I learned that it’s okay to not have linear progression“, commented the fan.
