Noah Lyles had enough of the “drama” surrounding his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield. And thus, he decided to support her in every way possible. Born and brought up in Jamaica, Junelle Bromfield is an Olympic medalist. Proudly representing her homeland on the international front, Bromfield wanted to reach for the stars as she came to the Paris Olympics. Unfortunately, her wings were brutally clipped, and Bromfield was termed a traitor. That too, by the very people of Jamaica, where Bromfield had spent 26 years of her life!
It is a well-known fact that Jamaica and the US have a fierce rivalry when it comes to track and field. Sadly, this rivalry somehow trickled into the personal relationship of Lyles and Bromfield, almost scarring their blossoming garden. When Lyles won the men’s 100m final in Paris, quite expectedly Bromfield cheered for the love of her life. But she almost forgot that Lyles beat Kishane Thompson, who also hails from Jamaica. Suddenly, the vicious claws and teeth came out and ravaged Bromfield’s mental peace. Sending her confidence and self-esteem into oblivion, Junelle Bromfield succumbed to depression. Luckily for her, she had her guardian angel, Noah Lyles, to revive her. A tale she narrated in her recent appearance on the ‘Sim Soul Sessions’.

When Simone Clarke fathomed Bromfield’s fear of entering Jamaica, she could not believe her ears. At that very moment, Clarke made up her mind that she had to speak with the Jamaican athlete and make her story public. After all, receiving death threats on a regular basis cannot be healthy for any individual. Cut to the last week of September, a full-fledged episode has surfaced, where Junelle Bromfield has opened up about her Pandora’s box of miseries. In the recent episode, Bromfield reflected on how Noah Lyles forced her into therapy and how it helped her shove away the negativities.
Giving the credit to her boyfriend Noah Lyles, Bromfield stated, “When I started therapy, ’cause I started therapy two years ago when I just came over here-Noah encouraged it. In therapy, I learned that survival guilt isn’t just when somebody dies in your life. Survival guilt comes from when you grow up in a bad community and you move out.” Bromfield further mentioned having a strong support system that helped her to move on from the dark phases of her life. And right at the helm sits Noah Lyles, who is always looking out for ways to keep her ladylove safe mentally and physically. According to Bromfield, these are the reasons that she doesn’t “think am I crying in my sleep now.”

Bromfield further elaborated that after getting into therapy, she has learned to accept reality. She realized that there will always be burdens of expectations coming from outside. And however hard one might try, it will be difficult to meet all the expectations at once. But Bromfield has still not mastered the art of ignoring her trolls. Confessing her continued attempt to grasp reality, Bromfield stated, “I’m still learning.” Thus, it is quite expected that the Jamaican athlete is often running away in search of peace, trying to escape reality. Thankfully, once again, Noah Lyles is there to guide her.

Furthermore, Noah Lyles’ mother, Keisha Bishop, also had a huge role in nurturing a loving bond with Bromfield. Speaking on the Sim Soul Sessions, Bromfield revealed how Bishop never asked the Jamaican to pay rent and took her in as a family member. Since Bromfield was not accustomed to being accepted as she was, this was quite a heartwarming moment for her. Not only that, Keisha Bishop also stood as a rock of support while helping Bromfield with her track and field practice.
Reminiscing about the golden days, the 26-year-old mentioned how Bishop would take her to her practice every day. And the most surprising part? About 5 minutes before Bromfield finished her training, she would find Lyles’ mother standing happily to accompany her back home. Thus, wrapped in a blanket of warmth, love, and care, it does seem like the haunting days of Junelle Bromfield have now truly come to an end.
