As the world prepares to experience the coveted quadrennial event, streaming giant Netflix is also setting the mood for the Olympics spirit. To celebrate the world’s biggest sporting tournament, Netflix will introduce a track and field docu-series, Sprint, just ahead of the sport’s kick-off at the Paris Games, reports a recent article by Hollywood Reporter. With that, Sha’Carri Richardson’s return to action at the Hungarian capital after her absence from the Tokyo Olympics will finally be shed light upon.

Team USA has been in hard-prep mode for months to continue its dominance in the Olympic Games. With a stacked track and field roster including the likes of Richardson, Noah Lyles, Gabby Thomas, and Christian Coleman, the 2023 World Championships was like the stepping stone for where the athletes started off their Paris journey, and the new series is set to bring the thrill to the silver screen along with all of its exhilarating moments.

Sprint will be released on Netflix in July. It will be the perfect mood-setter for the big occasion since track and field events will kick off in Paris on August 1.

Episodes and seasons of the docuseries

Sprint was ordered by Netflix last summer, to follow the country’s top sprinters and track figures on their preparation for last year’s World Championships. The second season, scheduled to air later, will chronicle the athletes’ journey to the French capital to bring gold and glory to the country.

The debut season will feature six forty-five-minute episodes highlighting how things unfolded in Budapest last year. The second season is yet to reveal its airing dates.

Who will join Sha’Carri Richardson, and Noah Lyles in Netflix Docuseries, ‘Sprint’

Athletes from the USA, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, Ivory Coast, Kenya, and Italy are expected to appear in the series, with Noah Lyles, Richardson, and Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson being at the helm of things. Jackson and Richardson have a long history of rivalry that goes back years. At their last meeting in Budapest, the American pulled a quick one over Jackson in the women’s 100m event, where the latter had to settle for a silver. In the 200m race, on the other hand, Shericka came in first, while Sha’Carri was the third to cross the finishing line.

With their intense rivalry once again expected to make attendees at the upcoming Olympics gasp out loud, re-living the thriller races from the 2023 World Championships could be just the thing to get ready to experience the next round of this fierce competition.

What can we expect in Noah Lyles-headlining ‘Sprint’?

Along with the athletes’ race to the podium at the last World Championships, fans can hope to get a glimpse of some behind-the-scenes clips about the people who continue to provide extensive support to the country’s top stars.

Junelle Bromfield, Noah Lyles’ girlfriend, could show up in the docu-series. Noah has often credited his relationship with Bromfield for making him complete. But Bromfield remains a character who still isn’t well-known to track fans, and the prospect of learning more about her could be another major selling point for the upcoming Netflix series.

Sha’Carri’s mother was one of her loudest cheerleaders at the Hungarian event, and fans can expect deeper insights about how Richardson’s family is one of her strongest believers. The world’s fastest woman was brought up by her grandmother, who remains one of the biggest characters in the athlete’s life, and details about her should be warranted as well.
