Kyree King is all decked up in his new funky hairstyle for the US Trials 2024. Echoing his fellow teammate Noah Lyles’ vision, King seems pretty much interested in the fashion revolution on tracks and fields. Well known for his walk-ins before the events, Noah Lyles has already hinted at a superstylish Paris outing. Reflecting on his plans, Lyles stated, “I’m trying to figure out what’s the style for the Olympics, and this year, I think it’s been screaming pearls.”

And surely, Noah Lyles is at the top of his game when it comes to fashion. Back in March, the US speedster was spotted at the Milan Fashion Week. Taking the ramp as a model, Lyles took away the spotlight donning a long jacket over a classy suit. And while Lyles is leading the revolution, his relay team compatriot, Kyree King doesn’t want to miss out as well.

Revealing his exclusive look for the US trials, Kyree King has dyed his hair green. This is a significant change from King’s blonde hair that will surely make the fans excited. Speaking about his latest fashion update, King stated that athletes must express themselves and enjoy their outings on the tracks. He said, You have to have fun out here… We don’t have a lot of a chance to show personality. We’re on the track for 10 or 20 seconds, so we don’t have the opportunity to show who we really are. This is a big things for me; I like to have fun with it. It takes things away from the track, away from the nerves.”

Well, it is not only Noah Lyles and Kyree King who are delving into the fashion game. For the first time ever, the US trials will feature walk-ins for the athletes.

The likes of Sha’Carri Richardson have already become a fashion icon with her fancy braids and extended nails. Adding to the fashion team, the reigning 1500m national champ, Cooper Teare has also spoken on the topic. He stated that medals and skills inside the track are now not enough to promote oneself as a brand. Teare stated, “Now we’re kind of blurring those lines and getting into the mainstream and seeing people actually have success and grow their brands because of the stuff they’re doing outside of the track.”

Giving in to the trend, the US Olympic trials will be conducting walk-ins for the athletes. In a recent Instagram story, the procedure to apply for the same was detailed. The post read, “Athlete WALK IN: We want to give you the chance to showcase your personal style off the track or field. If you are interested in participating in a venue walk-in moment, bring your best outfit and reach out to Julian. Irigoyen@ usatf.org so we can help capture your walk in.” Thus, with the changing dynamics of fashion, it will be interesting to see the likes of Lyles and King setting the stage on fire with their fashion in Paris.
