Noah Lyles recently concluded a successful 2023 season. However, his start to the season was equally impressive as he recorded a photo-finish win in the 60m final at the Indoor Grand Prix in Boston. Lyles, who usually features in the 200m, had started his year in the 60m discipline with a time of 6.51 seconds to win the event in a new personal best time. However, his fellow Team USA teammate Trayvon Bromell gave him stiff competition throughout the race as Lyles edged Bromell by only two thousandths of a second.

While Noah Lyles had a spectacular 2023 season, Bromell had a season to forget as he suffered from injuries throughout the year. However, a recent post on X suggests that last year’s 100m world championship bronze medalist is on the track to recovery and will be firing on all cylinders at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.

Trayvon Bromell has not competed much in the 2023 season due to his injuries. The American track runner has a history of bone spur injuries that dates back to the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he ran most races with injuries. After the Rio Olympics, Bromell underwent a couple of surgeries that included surgery to remove the bone spur and another surgery for his Achilles. In fact, from 2017 to 2019, the sprinter hardly took part in racing with only a few appearances in the 100m events. This year too, Bromell has not been a 100 percent fit and has suffered bone spur injuries that forced him to end his 2023 race season at the 2023 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships.

This also forced him to miss the recent world championships in Budapest and he only ran twice in the 2023 Diamond League and registered a 3rd and 5th position in the men’s 100m events. However, a recent Track Spice post on X highlights that Bromell has been recovering well and aiming to return stronger for the upcoming Olympics. The post was captioned, “Trayvon Bromell’s comeback for Paris 2024 begins,” as fans witnessed a compilation of Bromell’s recovery techniques that ranged from pool workouts to physiotherapy by medical staff. Bromell will be hoping to recover quickly so that he can once again face off against Noah Lyles, who after his early win in February has not stopped winning and has recorded an impeccable 2023 season.

Noah Lyles registers an impressive 2023 season

Noah Lyles recorded an impactful 2023 season in the buildup to the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. He started off with an early win in the season against Trayvon Bromell and, according to an Olympics report, Lyles said, “I’ve been waiting on this for a long time. Every time I watch Christian [Coleman] and Trayvon run the 60s, I think, ‘I’ve got to be in it. [I’m] not just coming for the 200m world record, we’re coming for all the world records.” Although Lyles did not break any world records, he put in impressive runs at the 2023 world champions in Budapest that saw him win a hat trick of Olympic gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay.
