For the last few weeks, Noah Lyles spent a larger share of his time in track and field engagements. Before dropping in Boston for the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, he backed himself to grow as the 60m indoor champion. Eventually, the American sprinter succeeded in that realm. After that, Noah Lyles claimed to usurp all the major titles in the track and field category. Reportedly, he advanced to fulfill his promise by defeating Christian Coleman in the latest duel of 60m in Albuquerque.

Now, as the track and field world dictates the next station, the Glasgow World Indoor Championship will come in the Olympian’s way. So before that, Noah Lyles tried to stay in that zone. To show his love for the occasion and track and field disciplines, Noah recently expressed his excitement to see a middle-distance sprinting phenom in Glasgow.

The Glasgow Indoor Championship is about to roll on March 1-March 3. Despite being a participant there, Noah Lyles himself is vehemently waiting to witness Josh Kerr taking his stride there against Yared Nuguse, the American record holder. Previously, a lot of discussion took place regarding Josh Kerr’s unavailability on the British lineup bound for Glasgow. But in a changed situation, the 2023 World champion kept all the gloomy factors aside. As Citius Mag’s dictated on its X-post on Monday, Kerr is ready to participate in the 3000m indoor in front of his home crowd. After this revelation came, Noah Lyles commented on the same post, writing: “I’m excited to see him run.”

However, Josh Kerr’s response didn’t come after that startling recognition. But despite coming from different sprinting events, Noah Lyles surely counted on the prized tussle between Josh Kerr and Yared Nuguse. The American counterpart is steadily advancing toward cementing himself as the ‘next big thing’ in middle-distance sprinting. But ultimately both Noah and Nuguse know about Josh Kerr and his excellence in the event.

Another fight is on the calendar, increasing pressure on American prodigy

Noah Lyles’s national teammate Yared Nuguse is yet to take on Josh Kerr in the 3000m indoor event. However, his nomination for Glasgow came after his defiant victory in Albuquerque last week. Before that, in Millrose as well, the 24-year-old won the mile short track. However, to increase his pain, Josh Kerr claimed the record timing in the 3000m short track event in Amory. However, this year, the British legend is yet to participate in any 1500m short event.

Moreover, last year as well, the 1500m short event didn’t witness him in a similar avatar as the 3000m events flaunted him. But ultimately, that won’t bat an eye. The reason could be his confession: “I’m having fun with it, creating big goals to get myself out the door and prove I’m not all talk.” Now, after having Noah Lyles’s certificate, things will be interesting.
