Fans wondering what transpired Sha’Carri Richardson to opt out of the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica finally have something to look forward to. The tracks star will soon contest in the second round of the Diamond League in Rabat. NBC Sports revealed details of the athletics champion’s upcoming clash with the world’s best athletes.

This race will take place at Morocco’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium. Richardson is set to give stiff competition to other contenders in this event, her confidence boosted by her recent wins in the Kip Keino Classic, Doha Diamond League meet, and Miramar Invitational event.

A massive contest featuring the world’s best athletes

This contest will take place on 28th May, Sunday, as reported by NBC Sports. American audiences can view the 200m race for the women’s category at 10:00 am on various platforms like CNBC and NBC Sports. Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce along with Abby Steiner are also expected to participate in the event. She will also have once again face Jamaican athlete Shericka Jackson who she defeated in the Doha Diamond League meet. While Richardson has defeated these athletes in the past, it remains to be seen whether the Dallas native can surpass them once again.

The track-and-field athlete will also have a potential faceoff in this race with Dina Asher-Smith who has secured third place at the Diamond League meet in Doha. Before this thrilling race on 28th May, she will also contest in another race on 27th May in Los Angeles. This race will have two rounds. While the first round of this race will take place at 11:00 am, the second round will commence at 12:45 pm. The tracks athlete has also organized a meetup with fans on 25th May in Los Angeles.
The most recent race in which the tracks athlete was the 200m Kip Keino Classic race where she completed the race in 22.07 seconds. After this race, a viral video displayed Richardson throwing up after completing the race. While puking is not uncommon for track athletes, and even Usain Bolt once confessed to puking while training, Richardson’s video led to intriguing speculations by fans. Many fans spoke about how heat, altitude, jet lag, and nerves could add up to Richardson puking after the race.

On 13th May, it was a dog day of summer at the Kasarani stadium in Nairobi, Kenya. Giving her 100%, she overtook other track athletes like Kyra Jefferson and Shannon Bay. Three days post the race, a Twitter video by Track and field reports raised eyebrows as she retched up on the race track. Richardson sat on the ground for a brief moment to regain her normalcy. Fans also reacted to this recent video and expressed how indigestion and an increase in lactic acid levels could be potential causes for Richardson throwing up after the race.

 

While the tracks athlete didn’t cite any reason for her absence at the Racers Grand Prix, she will look to bring her A-game once again for the forthcoming races in Los Angeles and Rabat.
