A heart-touching incident unfolded during a post-event interview with Laulauga Tausaga-Collins, who won the discus throw world title. She was talking about her victory that came out of nowhere, and her childlike behavior during the interview made Jordan comment, “This makes me smile. Collins was honored by the City of San Diego following her world championship victory. She shared a post on her Instagram on Saturday in which she wrote, “Today I was honored by the City of San Diego and Mayor Todd Gloria at the Pacific Islander Festival! So honored to be celebrated by family and the Pacific Islander community here in San Diego!”

In these pictures, she can be seen in Samoan attire, representing the community with pride. The reigning world champion further gave a special mention to Grace Fashion for turning her patriotic red, white, and blue puletasi dreams into reality.

The specialist thrower created history in August when she stood atop the podium with a 69.49-meter throw in a discus throw. With this humongous throw, she also broke her own previous record by a significant margin. Her track and field career and the world title victory have been nothing short of an inspiring journey so far.

She arrived at the event hosted in the Hungarian capital with a personal best of 65.46 meters, and out of nowhere, she shattered her own record by nearly four meters. Interestingly, she was falling short of her competitors and was looking in a vulnerable situation, but she did not give up until the end and came out victorious. Collins persevered and climbed her way from the twelfth position to the fifth, and then to the first position.

However, the contest wasn’t over until her most fierce competition was out of turn to change the game. This was one of the most interesting faceoffs between some of the best throwers out there. Her journey from an unexpected victory to being honored by the City of San Diego is a testament to her dedication and talent.
