Chevrier, who was touted as one of the most impressive athletes, was going toe-to-toe with Britain’s Molly Caudery. However, her struggles began soon after the French athlete cleared the 4.55m jump. While attempting to go further up, she fumbled and failed initially. Unfortunately, that was the last fans saw of Chevrier. It was reported that the athlete suffered a broken ankle and was out of the competition.
To make matters worse, the updates from her coach did not sound too bright as well. As per Grant Brown, the 24-year-old had her “bone sticking out” from her ankle. Due to the unforeseen event, the competition experienced a halt of 15 minutes while Chevrier was escorted out on a stretcher. Such an incident had the fans’ attention. They quickly took to the comments section.

It goes without saying, that the #polevault is the Event in Track & Field with the highest risk. Also the most technically demanding, and as previously noted, when done well, requires an all-in, total commitment like no other event!
