In a classic case of ‘will they, won’t they?’ we finally have the answer to who will win the 100m dash at Stade de France! If you didn’t bite your nails down to the quick-watching race, you are better than us! Noah Lyles has claimed his first Paris Olympics gold medal, edging Kishane Thompson by just 0.005 seconds! Amidst a deafening cheer from the crowds, the 27-year-old took it all in. He then made his way to his mother and girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, who were cheering him on with tears streaming down their face.

While the 26-year-old Bromfield will be representing her nation Jamaica at the Summer Games in the coming days, tonight she only had eyes for the Olympian. However, shortly before the 2024 Paris Olympics commenced, the two received backlash from fans. It all started when Lyles disclosed how he was aware of what went on in the Jamaican camp. However, now that he bested Thompson on the purple track, many seem to be attacking Bromfield yet again. One fan seemed to have had enough, “Alright leave Junelle alone people.”

Lyles and Bromfield have solidified their status of a power couple in the track and field community. Despite living under the towering shadow of the rivalries between their nations, the two often share snippets of their loving relationship. Tonight was one of those nights. The Jamaican sprinter watched as her American beau blazed past the finish line at the Stade de France. She was spotted cheering him on throughout the race, and even celebrated his win with a picture of their loving embrace.

So, what went wrong? In an casual sit-down interview with Track World News, Lyles stated “I have been getting the drama from Jamaican camps for at least five years now.” However, this isn’t the first time the sprinter has admitted this. Before the Jamaican Olympic Trials took place at the Kingston Stadium, the American was asked about his competitor Oblique Seville. “I study my competitors. I know your weaknesses. I know what your strengths are. I’ll be ready,” the 27-year-old stated. Like they say, the internet never forgets.

Over the next few days, Bromfield had to face intense backlash from her countrymen and women. Amidst tags of “traitor” and “backstabber,” the sprinter shared a story on Instagram seeming unbothered. However, this only seemed to make a terrible situation worse. After Lyles’ impressive performance at the French capital tonight, fans have jumped back on the hate bandwagon. They’ve particularly taken offense to the Jamaican’s display of support for her beau at Stade de France.

The track and field community has Junelle Bromfield’s back

Junelle Bromfield and Noah Lyles found themselves in hot water yet again. But certain fans seem to believe this is uncalled for. One fan stated, Directing fire at Junelle and her family is nasty and low.” The internet can be harsh at times. But several fans decided to take it a step further and go for the jugular. Another fan was simply perplexed, “Whether by faceless accounts or not threatening Junelle, calling her outside of name and insulting her looks is nasty work. Emotions are high but my goodness.” It’s true what they say – if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it.

Confused, a fan asked, Waaaait.. folks expected Junelle not to support her man of almost 3 YEARS?!!!??? Yall weird” Regardless of where they come from, the sprinter is doing what every loving partner does. Another fan agreed, No people really upset Junelle supporting her man ?🤣” The two have always been each other’s hype person, and have been incredibly vocal about being each other’s support system. Did someone say ‘Couple Goals’?

Y’all need to remember their lives are bigger than track.” She wasn’t doing too well after losing her mother, but Keisha Caine Bishop took Junelle in as her own.
