Beyoncé rocking Tara Davis-Woodhall's boots—Is this a sign of sports fashion influencing mainstream trends?

Scuffed-up cowboy boots, a signature hat, and the demeanor of an athlete are what Tara Davis-Woodhall dons as her “entire M.O. (Modus Operandi).” Being a Texan, the sprinter loves to represent her “free-spirited” persona both off and on the field. And when the long jumper makes a fashion statement through her iconic looks, the chances are, that fans start replicating some elements of her outfit. But, when it is Beyonce who takes inspiration from your M.O., that is when you know that you made an impact. Something similar happened with Tara Davis-Woodhall during the Paris Olympics Opening ceremony.

While the impending thriller that is promised by the French capital over the next two weeks is making athletes and fans jittery, social media is equally going Ga-Ga over pop icon Beyonce’s appearance in the introduction video of the Team USA for the Games. And justifiably, the long jumper is also having a hard time believing that the 32-time Grammys winner went for a look reminiscent of the Olympian.

On July 27th, Davis-Woodhall took to her X handle and expressed her elation after seeing Beyonce’s fit. Sharing the post by NBC Olympics & Paralympics, the former Georgia Bulldogs star wrote, “BEYONCÉ COPIED MY BOOTS IM SCREAMING,” as the caption of the post.

In the video, the singer can be seen introducing “the superstars that represent us,” to the background music of Nancy Sinatra’s iconic “These Boots Are Meant For Walking“. Sporting an iconic American look with a shiny pair of cowboy boots and a cowboy hat inspired by the country’s flag, Beyonce welcomes fans to the big rumble that lies ahead.

” I can’t wait to see what they pull off in the next 16 days,” says Beyonce with a confidence that will ensure every pulse of the country beats as one for the next fortnight. It’s an honor to get the chance to unveil the national athletes who will be heading to Paris with the goal of bringing glory to the country, and justifiably, Tara is elated to see her looks mirrored by the pop star for the job.

Have an interesting take?

Davis-Woodhall has made her looks stand out even when she’s in a crowd. The hat that was gifted to the 25-year-old has become a key feature of her fashion, just like the cowboy boots that her grandfather gave her. However, what started as a lighthearted fashion experiment, has become much more than that.

More so, Beyonce not only donned cowboy boots and a hat, but she also wore a dazzling leotard with a Team USA themed print. And as the music megastar gave the opening credits, she performed a patriotic rendition of her “Cowboy Carter” hit “YA YA” featuring Simone Biles alongside the women and men’s Olympic gymnastics teams.

Beyonce’s special welcome for the Team USA at Paris Olympics is a “vision to behold”

As the video commences, Beyonce can be seen affirming, “Hello Girls!,” to which, the Team USA women’s gymnastics team replies in chorus, “Hello Beyonce.” The focus than shifts to the Men’s gymnastics team. “America, give it up for Team USA, the very best of who we are,” Beyoncé says, as the video featured other Olympians including flag bearers Coco Gauff and LeBron James.

As the video further progresses, the spectators get the sight of Katie Ledecky, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Simone Manuel, Gabby Thomas, Ryan Murphy, Grant Holloway, Tara Davis-Woodhall, Kate Douglass, and Shaine Casas. Interestingly, as Beyonce sings the melody of her song ‘YA YA,’ all the entities in the video were seen clapping to the beats of her song.

In the video, she called Team USA “a vision to behold” and “a team to believe in,” adding that America is “a big, bold, complicated nation.” That’s how, she introduced the Team USA to the world. While doing so, the musical icon made sure to add unique elements to her outfit. With an exclamation of “Oui Paris,” Beyonce indeed gave the best narration of Team USA’s Paris Olympics’ clan, don’t you agree?
