The video shows how the Dutch team’s star sprinter, Femke Bol, fell just ahead of the finish line. The Dutch team looked good throughout the race that was held on day one of the championships. With Bol’s tragic fall, the United States’ Alexis Holmes surged ahead and took home the victory in a most unexpected way. The video that NBC shared was captioned “Chaos in the mixed 4x400m!” and it indeed was a race that ended in disorder. The race was held on August 19, and the team of Rosey Effiong, Justin Robinson, Matthew Boling, and Alexis Holmes won the race with an impressive time of 3:08.80.

This was also a world record in the mixed 4X400m. Not only this, but the teams that finished second and third also set some new records. British team of Lewis Davey, Laviai Nielsen, Rio Mitcham and Yemi Mary John finished second with a time of 3:11.06 while team Czech Republic comprising of Matěj Krsek, Tereza Petrzilkova, Patrik Šorm and Lada Vondrova grabbed the bronze after clocking a finish of 3:11.98. While the day might have been one to forget for Team Netherlands and, in particular, Femke Bol, it’s essential to recognize that her prowess as a remarkable athlete remains undiminished, regardless of the challenges that unfolded on the track. After the race was over, the 23-year-old 2020 Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist stated that she could not hit her stride like she normally does, and according to her, she cramped up with the sensation of someone chasing her, and in no time she was on the ground. This Dutch sensation might have lost control during the race, but her talent and records in the track and field realm speak volumes about her talent. She is the indoor world record holder in 400 meters with an incredible finish of 49.26 seconds, and she is also regarded as the second fastest 400-meter hurdle runner of all time and holds the European record with a time of 51.45 seconds.
