Is Allyson Felix the game-changer women's sports have been waiting for, or is it too ambitious?

They say the best way to change the system is from within. With that in mind, we can all agree that Allyson Felix is among the most knowledgeable people regarding how things are on the inside in the world of track and field. The most decorated US track and athlete of all time has left a lasting mark in the sport and is now here to usher in a new era.

Track and field in the USA has been undergoing tectonic shifts recently. With new events elevating the standard, female athletics is enjoying a never-before-seen popularity across the country. And Allyson wants a piece of the action.

The University of Southern California alum recently appeared for an interview with CBS Mornings. In a post on X from October 8, Felix can be heard talking about how she hopes to help female athletes with her latest venture. In the social media update, the retired sprinter noted how she desperately wants to break the notion of “one size fits all” with her new sports management firm, Always Alpha. “I wanted to do impact work,” Allyson Felix said and noted how her own experience helped her to chalk out the details of her latest project.

I wanted to manage everything. I have my agent, I had all these things and I wanted to figure out how to do this seamlessly,” she explained, pointing out what prompted her to try and bring something new to the table. Talking about how the women’s sports-focused firm will change the entire game, Felix further said, “This is the first time something like this is happening at this scale. We’re a subsidiary of Dolphin Entertainment, and we’re using all the things they have to offer and now we can bring it to our clients.

Felix noted she also wanted to help athletes make a seamless transition after they hang up their running shoes and sure they can “do things differently.” Allyson will be the latest entry in the long list of celebrities who have doubled up their efforts to help women’s sports reach a higher level in recent times.

Women’s track and field sports are experiencing a massive following these days. Especially after the USA’s athletes like Gabby Thomas, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone made their presence felt at the 2024 Paris Olympics, things are all the more titillating. With that, the plea to offer female athletes the same pay as their male colleagues has also gotten stronger. Contributing to the demand, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian has entered the field.

Veteran track athlete Justin Gatlin also noted how incredible things are on the horizon for those who are willing to put in the effort.
