The Olympics have surely witnessed the strongest women blazing through the tracks and writing their own tales with the strongest reasons that make them who they are today. Be it Sha’Carri Richardson, who qualified for the 100 meters gloriously, Simone Biles, who returns after withdrawing from various events at the Tokyo Olympics, Melissa Jefferson, or Anna Cockrell.

A mentor accompanied athletes to help them on their way to becoming greats. Recently, Anna Cockrell booked her ticket to the Paris Olympics and credited her mentor. This very cherished moment was further shared by former American track and field athlete, Allyson Felix!

Amidst the tough tumult and aggressive behaviors, that is usually the sight of pumped-up gameplay. A virtuous moment managed to capture its place in the eyes of the audience. This moment took place on the track post-match when Anna Cockrell qualified for the finals of the Paris Olympics in 2024 with a memorable win behind Sydney McLaughlin Levrone, who scored gold.

The American athlete gave a tough fight to McLaughlin Levrone. She consecutively performed better in the women’s 400 m hurdles, clocking 54.71 seconds on the trail and 52.75 in the semifinals. After the race, in the interview, Anna credited her win to Dalilah Muhammad. She asserted, “Dalilah Muhammad, you’ve revolutionized this event…The impact you’ve had on this sport goes beyond medals, goes beyond records…”

This wholesome sight astounded Allyson Felix and couldn’t help but share this moment on her Instagram story by captioning it, “This moment was everything!”

Anna Cockrell’s interview fascinated the retired athlete and everyone on the field. She adds, “You’re great, you’re poised, you’re competitive; you’re a mentor to me; I can’t say thank you to her enough. I want to give her the flowers now… Sorry for hijacking the interview!”

Selfless moments like this tend to create history! Allyson has retired and is actively looking forward to the Paris Olympics and the forthcoming performances.

Allyson Felix has a rich history with women’s track and field competitions. She has been an active spectator, bringing light to women’s sports. With 11 Olympics and 20 World Championship medals, Allyson stands with the weird feeling and grief of not being able to run these Olympics, as she mentions. 

Allyson quotes, “Just seeing it from a different perspective. And so I’m excited to just support other athletes competing and to take it in.” She added that she could not enjoy the games because she competed for medals. Notably, Allyson is among those active athletes who are all set to give their mindful inputs in the forthcoming Olympics.
