The Wanda Diamond League has reached its final phases. After the successful conclusion of the 12th round of the league in Xiamen, the spotlight has now shifted to Brussels. The Brussels Diamond League will be the second-last leg of the event before the big Wanda Diamond League Final in Eugene. The 13th round of the league is already underway, as the first day of the event will host shot put competitions, while the second day, i.e., Friday, will host all the other events like 200m, 400m, 800m, 2000m, pole vault, etc.

Athletes like Andre De Grasse, Kenneth Bednarek, and Zharnel Hughes will be up against each other. However, Noah Lyles will not be competing in this event. While the league has already kicked off, fans must be wondering about the whereabouts of the league. Here is everything you need to know about the Brussels Diamond League 2023.

Venue, Date, and Events

The first leg of the 2023 Memorial Van Damme will commence on September 7, 2023. The King Baudouin Stadium will be hosting these two events. On the first day, there will be events like the Shot Put National Women, Shot Put National Men, and Shot Put Women-DL Event. While the second day, i.e., September 8, 2023, will have the other track and field events like 200-meter men, 400-meter men, 100-meter women, 400-meter women, 200-meter women, triple jump women, 400-meter hurdles women, etc.

On Thursday, there will be Shot Put National Women at 14:45, Shot Put National Men at 16:15, and Shot Put Women-DL Event at 18:00. On Friday, the Diamond League will host the Street 100m Mixed at 11:31 as the pilot event, while the main events will commence at 13:50, where the High Jump Women will start. 400m Men B will take place at 13:53, 400m Women at 14:04, 200m Men at 14:28, 100m Women at 14:36, Triple Jump Women at 14:41, 200m Women at 15:09, and the last event of the day will be 400m Men at 15:53. Then the event will conclude with a laser show concert at 16:00.

The women’s 100m will have Dina Asher-Smith from Great Britain, Gina Bass from the Gambia, Elaine Thompson-Herah from Jamaica, Tamara Clark from the United States, Shashalee Forbes from Jamaica, and Zoe Hobbs from New Zealand. While the men’s 400 meters will have Gilles Biron from France, Dylan Borlee of Belgium, Matthew Hudson-Smith of Great Britain, Alexander Ogando of the Dominican Republic, Havard Bentdal Ingvaldsen of Norway, Rusheen Mcdonald of Jamaica, and Leungo Scotch of Botswana.
