Is Flavor Flav the unsung hero of sports culture? Alexis Ohanian seems to think so!

“She runs NYC,” the words, added a special feeling to Alexis Ohanian, who was shown on the king-size billboard at Times Square. The Reddit founder couldn’t hide his satisfaction at seeing his dream of hosting the first-ever women-only track contest turn into reality. Now it is just a wait for four days more, and then Gabby Thomas and others will show up at the Icahn Stadium to add the final touch in the contest. In the middle of this, Ohanian has dropped a special message for another prominent supporter of women’s sports, Flavor Flav.

After the Paris Olympics, Flavor Flav has not stopped being vocal about promoting women’s sports. In fact, while in the French capital, he played the role of a perfect cheerleader for Team USA to support the said cause; recently, he has pulled out another antic. In one of his recent rap performances on stage, the 65-year-old hypeman highlighted a tee shirt with the slogan printed on it, “Support women’s sports.” Later, he put a caption on his social media handle, “Had to sport and support on stage tonight,!!!” And who does not know his contribution to the USA women’s water polo team at the Paris Olympics?

After noticing the financial constraints of the team to join the games, Flav turned into the sponsor. He spent a bag of dimes so the water polo team could compete in the greatest show on earth. Now Alexis Ohanian wants him to join his forces on September 26. The entrepreneur has noticed the footprints left by the rapper these days. So his presence in Athlos NYC could be a fitting affair. Today he dropped a post on X on that.

In his post, Serena Williams’s husband wrote, hey @FlavorFlav — what are you doing Sept 26?? You should join me as we put on the world’s first @ATHLOS in NYC.” In the meantime, Flav responded to Ohanian’s call uniquely, in the form of a rap verse.

With reposting the entrepreneur’s post, the Roosevelt native shared, “For my Partner in Dime,,, I got nothing but Time, For Women’s Sports, I gots ALL the supports,!!! Imma pull up for sure,!!! Who’s coming with me,?? THIS Thursday at iCAHN Stadium.” So, after Megan Thee Stallion and DJ D-Nice, another star from the entertainment world has joined the pomp of the revolutionary track event. In the wake of his role as the promoter of women’s sports, this collaboration may not have given birth to a surprise. But Flav’s recent work in this realm has been commendable.

Apart from supporting the women’s water polo squad of Team USA at the Paris Olympics, Flavor Flav turned into a monumental support for Jordan Chiles. After a severe battle at the judges’ table of CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sports), the American gymnast had to lose her bronze medal achieved in the women’s floor exercise at the Olympics. However, Flav appeared on the scene to apply medicine to the wounds.

He promised Jordan to gift her a “Bronze Clock Necklace” to shout out her achievement in the contest. Ultimately, Flavor fulfilled his promise on the stage of MTV VMAs, where he put the necklace around Chiles’s neck. It was a speechless moment for the Olympian. But Flav remained firm on his standpoint, commenting, “I got you something that they can’t take away from you.” Not only that, he took up his present role without caring for any financial assistance from any organization. In Paris, Flsv turned into a volunteer and helped the needy, spending his own nickels. Furthermore, he has kickstarted the campaign of ‘Support Women’s Sports’ on his platform. Undoubtedly, the fans would ask to see him more in such roles in the coming days.
