Home/Track & Field

Christmas Eve last year brought in a perfect vacation for the track and field athletes who already gobbled up the year with participation sprees. The holiday chance panned out beautifully as the next 6 months’ roster heaved up with lots of events and trials for them. However, the Jamaican sprinting legend, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, didn’t choose to stay out of the schedule at that moment. The 37-year-old former track and field champion showed her aura in a gym suit, sweating in her preparation, aiming to recover fully from her healing knee. Eventually, she aims to break USA’s track and field legend Allyson Felix’s record of bagging 8 Olympic medals.

Nonetheless, the veteran has already kept nothing short of creating a fairy tale in her track and field regime. So before the ultimate shows hit the path, Shelly-Ann has numbers backing her chance.

However, in post-pregnancy, her earnings in medals dipped. But the personal clockings improved way over.

Even with a customized compression bandage, the Jamaican sprinting legend returned to her practice session in the 11th week of post-pregnancy. Meanwhile, the doubt was heavy in her mind. “I [wondered] whether my body would allow me to put the level of work in to get it done”, Shelly-Ann conceded. But she didn’t let her guard down.
