She showed how American women face significantly higher risks of death or complications during childbirth. The Olympian, with record-breaking achievements, feels a duty to speak out about the hurdles encountered by mothers.

After giving birth to her second child a few days ago, the legend shared a beautiful post on her Instagram account and penned an enriching experience of her unmedicated Vaginal birth. Her incredible journey was highlighted by “She Knows,” showcasing crucial issues in the healthcare system.

At the core of Felix’s story is VBAC, or vaginal birth after cesarean, a significant topic in maternal health discussions. VBAC means choosing to deliver vaginally after a previous C-section. Announcing the birth of her second child, Felix wrote, “I was blessed to have the unmedicated VBAC that I wanted so badly.”

Already a parent to her 5-year-old daughter Camryn, Felix and her partner Kenneth Ferguson shared the joyous news of their baby’s arrival on April 19. She conceived her second child via IVF after facing fertility challenges in Nov 2023. The birth of her son, who has been named Kenneth Maurice Ferguson III, marks a momentous occasion for her family and maternal care worldwide.
