Saysh, the innovative brand founded by Olympic sprinter Allyson Felix, has recently launched a groundbreaking new shoe policy specifically designed for pregnant women. The retired Olympic Medalist announced the policy launch through her Instagram story and posted, “Introducing ‘An Intentionally Sexist Returns Policy,’ our latest Maternity Returns campaign”. Continuing this story the brand posted, “Let’s take a close look at the traditional expectations of women, and then flip them on their head. By going back in time, we invite you to reflect with us on how far we’ve come as a society, and how much further we have to go to reach true equality. Because even though we’re not living in the ’50s, women STILL deserve better”. Soon enough, the rules and criteria of the Saysh brand were shared for the policy, and they envisioned the maternal problem that is often left ignored.

This policy by Saysh offers the athletes shoe size changes during pregnancy and they are eligible for a free-of-cost pair of sneakers. The company would send them shoes for their new size, all without a dollar included. Today, while we may not be living in the 1950s era of overt gender discrimination, women continue to face challenges such as the gender pay gap and societal expectations that often limit their choices. This step looks forward to tackling issues that are left unspoken and further looking to reach true equality and a lot of excitement on social media.
