Fred Kerley might have found the next adventure to embark upon. After his recent success in the 100m and 200m events, Kerley might have gathered enough wisdom to help others find similar success on the track. Think we’re joking? Just look at how Mondo Duplantis trampled over hurdling specialist Karsten Warholm during their recent race at the Letzigrund Stadium in Switzerland with the help of the two-time Olympic medalist sprinter! And Kerley might have found his next padawan!
After helping the Swede to his first racing victory, Kerley is justifiably living in the moment. The upcoming season of track and field has a lot to offer, and the three-time world champ will be coming for it all. However, he just might have to take care of a few extra requests as well, especially after how he showed his mettle as a track coach with the pole vaulting sensation.

Long-distance runner and Marathoner Tim Rossi has a lot to look forward to. The 2024 New York Marathon is less than two months away, and professional sprinters from around the world will be looking to prove their worth at the tournament. Naturally, preparations are in full swing, and Rossi thinks Kerley could be an ideal fit for his training staff. On September 6, Rossi posted on X, “Need Coach Kerley to tap in for my NYC Marathon training cc @fkerley99,” and the 2024 Olympic silver medalist didn’t send him back with empty hands.
“I gotcha you,” replied Kerley to Rossi’s post, indicating that he’s ready to explore the world of coaching further. The public beef between the men’s 400mH world record holder Warholm and Duplantis has been brewing for quite some time, and Zurich was the perfect stage to draw an end to it. The hurdler and the pole vaulter met on the track and the latter secured a victory clocking an impressive 10.37 seconds. And Kerley has been all smiles. But this might also be the perfect opportunity for the 29-year-old to outshine a few opponents of his own.

Kerley’s foes lining up with boastful claims
Kerley has never been too shy to retort back at jibes pointed toward him. His feud with national teammate Vernon Norwood over the speculation of the letter’s return to 400m events has been supplying the track community with all the drama for quite some time. “When I started running faster you notice he stepped down to 100m. That’s all you needed to know,” joked Norwood on social media. However, it looks like Fred isn’t ready to let his colleague’s sneers go unnoticed. “I drop 43 on your head,” quickly came the response, underscoring that Norwood should comment bearing in mind that Kerley’s PB in the 400m is far better.

While that debate is yet to conclude, Kerley has gotten entangled in a fresh controversy with hurdler Rai Benjamin. Benjamin recently received a special honor from the New York Giants, and Kerley had to weigh in on his fashion choice for the memorable day. With that, it looks like the two-time Diamond League gold medalist has another possible athlete who is willing to go toe-to-toe with him on the tracks if the fans demand it.
