Can a YouTuber really challenge an Olympic champion, or is Lyles just too fast for Speed?

Noah Lyles hopped onto the F1 thrill ride in Las Vegas recently. Having spent a significant amount of time away from the track and field, the men’s 100m champion continued his leisure time in Vegas. Visiting the F1 tracks for the first time, Lyles was awed at the grand spectacle. As the Ferraris whizzed past before his eyes, Lyles could not help but compare himself with the supercars.

Recording an electric 9.79s to reach the 100m, Lyles aspires to further up the ante in the coming season. After all, his ultimate goal is to break Usain Bolt’s record of running 100m in 9.58s. Thus, taking to his Instagram, Lyles posted a series of pictures depicting his happy Formula 1 outing. However, his caption had a hint of a subtle dig taken at the popular YouTuber IShowSpeed.

“Speed meets Speed” is what Lyles captioned the picture where he was seen posing with a supercar. This was the Olympian’s way of saying that despite the YouTuber’s name having ‘speed’ in it, the real deal was Lyles himself. Well, talk about riling up some rivalries. In a recent turn of events, Lyles and MrBeast called IShowSpeed in the middle of one of his live streams.

Both personalities challenged Speed to come over to the tracks and challenge Lyles in a flat race. What’s more? The winner also got to keep a whopping $100,000! After a little deliberation, the 19-year-old YouTuber hopped into his car and took a three-hour ride to the venue. Once at the venue, the duo lined up for a 50m challenge.

Now, a YouTuber challenging an Olympic champion seems quite like a mismatch. But in reality, Speed surprised everyone. Showing tremendous grit and determination, the 19-year-old went toe to toe with Lyles. And at one point, he was leading the Olympians too! Unfortunately, his joy was short-lived, as Lyles accelerated and took the victory quite easily. However, soon after the results were out, he denied losing and argued that he only lost because he did not know the technique. Speed also claimed to be faster in ‘raw power’ than Lyles, which the latter laughed off. And now, with Lyles getting back at Speed, fans cannot stop joining the discussion.

Fans get excited as Lyles vs Speed 2 is potentially in the making

Have an interesting take?

Fans were thrilled to witness Lyles taking a jab at IShow Speed. One fan took to the comment box and wrote, “Speed don’t wanna be happy with the post”. They mentioned the same referring to Noah Lyles’ Instagram caption of the recent post. Several fans believe that the word subtly mocked IShowSpeed by implying that Lyles is the true embodiment of speed.

The rivalry between Speed and Lyles has created quite a buzz amid netizens. Echoing similar emotion, another Instagram user humorously commented, “Lmao can’t wait for Speed to see this, he’s gonna be so mad”. Noah’s playful jab suggests Lyles is the true embodiment of “speed,” contrasting with the YouTuber’s nickname. Given Speed’s competitive nature and his prior claims of superior “raw power,” the fan anticipates that Speed will react humorously or indignantly to Lyles’ post, potentially fueling their friendly rivalry further.

Another fan made their way into the comment section and wrote, “Your name is nojo not speed”. By referencing Noah Lyles’ dominance in their race, the commenter humorously suggests that Speed’s performance fell short, implying he should be called “nojo” rather than “speed,” as Lyles proved to be faster and more skilled.

Lyles’ beloved fiancée Junelle Bromfield too made an entry in the comment section. Declaring her unending love for the sprint star, Bromfield commented, “My fiancé” 😍😍😍”. In the context of Lyles’ recent playful rivalry with IShowSpeed and his impressive athletic achievements, Bromfield’s remark likely reflects her fondness for her partner, the Olympic champ.

Thus, with things taking some interesting turns, it remains to be seen how IShowSpeed responds to the latest tease from Noah Lyles.
