She finished the race in 10.65 seconds, which tied her with Jamaican sprinting legend Shericka Jackson for the world’s fastest woman title. Shericka Jackson came second in the 100-meter race on Monday, but she is gearing up to defeat Richardson in the 200-meter final. As per Yahoo News, the 2023 World Athletics Championships has a total prize money pool of $8.5 million. This money will be divided among the participants based on their rankings after the final event.

Sha’Carri Richardson has already secured $70,000 with her victory in the 100-meter race. Now, she hopes to add to her winnings by claiming the top spot in the 200-meter final. But it will not be that easy with Shericka Jackson determined to defend her title. She will also face major competition from St Lucia’s Julien Alfred, who has also qualified for the final.

Sha’Carri Richardson will have to contend against the defending champion for the double gold at the World Athletics Championships. After the recent loss, Shericka Jackson is not ready to back down. In a post-race interview, she said, “…the championship isn’t over. I have the 200”. She revealed that she would go back to the drawing board and work out the best strategy with her coach for the upcoming match.
