Is the support from Noah Lyles' mother the secret weapon for Junelle Bromfield's Olympic dreams?

The City of Love is gearing up to shower Noah Lyles and his girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, with a warm Parisian welcome! But it’s not just Paris extending its open arms but also Lyles’ mother, Keisha Caine, who has also opened her heart to Bromfield. Most recently, Bromfield punched her ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at the Jamaican Olympic trials. She crossed finish the line with a 51.24 in the 400m final. Thus, securing her spot for the Olympics. However, this victory was a feather in the cap for both Junelle and Noah Lyles’s mom, who couldn’t be prouder.

Ever since Bromfield’s mother, Sandra Farquharson, was diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer in January 2021 and tragically passed away within a month, she threw herself into training. However, the mental toll of her mother’s passing took a physical toll too, as she struggled to hit the qualifying time for the Olympics. But fast forward to today, Bromfield found a mother figure in Noah Lyles’ mom, Keisha Caine. After securing her spot for Paris in the trials, she revealed that Keisha has been her guiding light since her own mother’s passing.

In a candid YouTube interview with The Inside Lane, Junelle Bromfield opened up about her personal journey following the loss of her mother, revealing, “So, I started therapy about two years ago because my boyfriend is big on therapy and felt I needed it. It’s been really helpful because I’ve been dealing with survivor’s guilt, which was weighing on me. Now, I feel like I can live my life fully and enjoy every moment because life is short.”

Speaking further about her support network, she acknowledged her boyfriend’s mother, saying, “I want to give a big shout-out to my boyfriend and his mom because when I went to Florida, I wasn’t driving, and she took me to training and back every day, which was like 40 minutes. That’s a support that I’m extremely grateful for.”

However, Junelle Bromfield is much like Noah Lyles, who shines brightly as an exceptional athlete. She played an important role in securing a silver medal with the 4x400m women’s relay team at Tokyo 2020, not leaving the mixed relay team empty-handed either, as they bagged a bronze. Their relationship is somewhat like a Cinderella story, isn’t it?
