Track and field has been a sport that requires tremendous physical strength and agility. Athletes have always been seen pushing their limits to the core to make a name for themselves out there. But the road to success can sometimes be bumpy, as injuries come as an inevitable part of this sport. Something similar has been happening in the US track and field world for the past few months, where more than 15 athletes were injured and could not be a part of upcoming events.

The list was shared by Track and Field Reports on their Twitter handle with the caption “Top athletes injured this year,” and this list consists of some of the best male and female sprinters from across the world. There were some athletes who got injured at the beginning of the year, and they are on their way to recovery, but they are not yet 100% fit to make a comeback on the track. Runners like Marcell Jacobs, Michael Cherry, and Marvin Bracy have been injured for a while now. But Trayvon Bromell and Abby Steiner are the two new trackers who have made the injury list.

Trayvon Bromell, the 100-meter bronze medalist in the world championships in 2015 and 2022, underwent surgery for a bone spur in the ankle. One similar injury was sustained by US 200m and 300m indoor record holder Abby Steiner; she also underwent surgery and is currently recovering. These two are just a small part of that long list of people who were a setback for the track and field world. Everyone would want these athletes to recover as soon as possible, as these injuries will hamper the competition and thrill of the forthcoming events.
