Shericka Jackson will once again line up tonight after her sensational triumph in the 100 meters on day one of the Prefontaine Classic 2023. She outperformed her American track and field rival, Sha’Carri Richardson, on Saturday and stood atop the podium in the 100-meter meet. It was her all around the Hayward Field stadium, and Richardson also applauded her after the victory. Now the current 200-meter world champion is gearing up to secure yet another victory on day two of the finals to frame another trophy on her wall of fame.

Jackson’s pursuit to break Flo-Jo’s iconic 21.34-second record will continue in this meet as well. However, there is much buzz around whether or not she’ll finally break the record or not. This is one of the most anticipated races of the competition, as the world’s second-fastest woman will again be there to take the track by storm.

Travis Miller, a track and field enthusiast, dropped an update on his Twitter (now X) asking fans to predict the winner and if the world record will be broken or not. In the past few years, the Olympian has made 200-meter sprints look so easy. Every time she participates in a double hundred, she dominates like no other. The world saw her doing so at the 2023 World Championships, which concluded in August, where the Jamaican runner clocked 21.41 seconds to finish the race.

It was also the second-fastest record in the 200-meter women’s race. More so, she holds the record for the three fastest 200-meter finishes ever clocked in women’s history. Having clocked 21.41 seconds, 21.45 seconds, and 21.48 seconds, she has the second, third, and fourth fastest times in the world, respectively.

Not only this, she also leveled up her performance in 100 meters at the ongoing Diamond League Finals 2023 and took home the trophy after a 10.70-second finish. As she gears up to compete on the final day, the post by Miller is buzzing with fans supporting Jackson and debating whether the records will be shattered or not.

What fans have to say

She’ll face strong competition from Daryll Neita (Great Britain), Marie-Josée Ta Lou, Kayla White, and Twanisha Terry, making it a must-watch event. While Jackson is the favorite, sports can yield unexpected outcomes, as seen yesterday. The fans are extending their support to Jackson and predicting her victory.

One fan expressed his belief that Shericka Jackson will win the race with a significant margin as he wrote, “Jackson by a long long way.”

Another fan expressed his desire that the Jamaican prodigy will break Flo-Jo’s record as he stated, “Manifesting for world record.”

One other fan predicted the time that Jackson was going to clock and said “I say 21.4 at best. I will delete this tweet if I am wrong.”

Another fan predicted that the current world champion would take home the victory but also showed his Josee Ta Lou, Daryl Neita, and Kayla White as he wrote, “Shericka Jackson is in there, although Josee Ta Lou, Daryl Neita andKayla White have got the pace.”
