The 2024 Paris Olympics gave us so many lovable moments. But who could ever forget the “Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me.” moment when Tara Davis-Woodhall won her maiden Olympic gold? The track and field community was in awe when the Olympian ran towards the stands and jumped into Hunter Woodhall’s arms. They didn’t have to wait long to watch them recreate their viral moment in the same place where it all started.
After the duo shared several images of their ‘his & hers’ medals, fans lovingly dubbed them the ‘Golden Couple.‘ It’s safe to say that everyone wants to see more of them, especially their journey leading up to the biggest moments of their lives. However, the 25-year-old’s update on Threads has crushed those dreams before they could take off. “It’s crazy to think we tried to get someone to make a docsuries of @_taarra_ and my journey to the Paris Games.” However, he stated that no one greenlit the idea.
Hunter Woodhall continued, “Guess a long jumper and a Paralympian wasn’t a compelling enough story.” While he believed it “Woulda been rad,” several fans agreed. One fan even confessed, “What a huge missed opportunity. You both are so inspiring. ❤️🤘🏼” But all is not lost; the paralympian stated how he wanted to tell Tara and his story. So they decided to put it out for the world to watch themselves. How exactly did they do that?

The 25-year-old added, “This is why we made the ‘Let’s Go Further’ series on our YouTube channel.” The 5-part series follows them throughout their stint in Paris. He reiterated how even though they might never have a docuseries made, they wanted to ensure their story was out there. “Looking back, wouldn’t have it any other way,” the para-athlete confessed. Fans have always been enthralled by the duo, but how did they become the USA’s power couple? After her sixth-place finish in Tokyo, Tara Davis-Woodhall was eyeing the gold hardware in the City of Love. And her husband supported her all the way through.
During the long jump finals in Stade de France, her leap of 7.10 m catapulted her to the top step of the podium. Her first instinct was to run towards Hunter Woodhall, who could only muster a “You did it; you’re the Olympic champion.” It was now the para-athlete’s moment to shine. The 25-year-old’s blistering 46.36 seconds was worthy of a shiny Paralympic hardware, and Tara watched from the stands, cheering him on. After his stellar win, he recreated the viral moment, collectively melting the world’s hearts. But they aren’t the first to bring up these grievances.
Before Hunter Woodhall, another track and field star aired her concerns out

After contesting in the Brussels Diamond League Finals, the sprinter didn’t shy away from addressing the disrespect she faced. “Because when you say that you’re going to do a series about the fastest people in the world, I mean, you show every people. You don’t show only people who win,” the 35-year-old stated. The crew had followed her around for an entire year. The Ivorian only realized she didn’t make the cut once the docuseries was released.
Season 2 will soon be out on November 13. This time, they will follow the sprinters throughout their time in the French capital. However, in the list of sprinters set to appear on the show, the golden couple’s names seem to be amiss. Fans have enjoyed watching Hunter and Tara Davis-Woodhall’s fairytale journey in the City of Love. But with the duo’s absence in the docuseries, binge-watching their “Let’s Go Further” series could be the next best thing!
