Cheers erupted at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center when 17-year-old Summer McIntosh took the reins in the 200m Freestyle event on day 3 of the TYR Pro Swim Series 2024. After clinching victory in the 200m butterfly on day 2, the Canadian started the third day on a great note.

After showcasing her innate talents in the 200m butterfly, she cruised to the finish line in the 200m freestyle like a pro, leaving her counterparts in her wake.

Summer McIntosh powers to victory again

After having the upper hand on day 2 of the TYR Pro Swim Series 2024, Summer McIntosh did not step down from the role of excellence on day 3 as well. Even after opting out from her mastery 400m freestyle on day 2, McIntosh still had her sights set on the podium and she did not fail to fulfill it. With a ravishing victory in the 200m butterfly on the second day of the competition, the Canadian swimmer again stunned the audience by subjugating the 200m freestyle event. 

She shined bright at the podium with her gold medal after clocking a time of 1:55.41. The American swimmer Erin Gemmell took the second position with a time of 1:58.23, while bronze was taken by the American prodigy Simone Manuel with a time of 1:58.87. 

Summer McIntosh had her motives clear when she entered this first competition of the Olympic year. Her performance on day 2 in the 200m butterfly event spoke volumes about her drive to don gold medal all while showcasing an incredible winning spree.

The dominance of the 17-year-old prodigy 

Summer McIntosh started her day 2 on an amazing note. Before anyone could comprehend anything, she cruised towards the finish line and attained victory in no time after jumping in the water. She channeled her world champion skills and clinched gold by clocking a time of 2:05.73 trouncing her American counterpart Emma Sticklen who bagged silver with a time of 2:08.57.

In the third position was Kelly Pash with a time of 2:09.02. However, when McIntosh threw her hands up in the air after touching the yellow line, none of them were to be seen near her.
