Katie Ledecky is one of the greatest women swimmers in the world. As surprising as the first medal she clinched emerged, the upcoming medals looked similarly possible. Ledecky has won 10 Olympics medals in her career and more to come. Overall, her 10 medals include seven golds and three silvers. However, the first medal turned into tons of questions firing at her.

Not only that, but questions were also raised to her whole family about the diet and everything she consumed. Although, Ledecky and her family stood calmly and answered the allegations put against her. It happened as a result of Katie winning a very unexpected medal, which was unexpected for her as well as the spectators.
What did Katie Ledecky eat before the 2012 Olympics?
This was the most common question asked when Katie won the gold medal in 2012. Everyone asked her and her family about her diet. Many people doubted if she was doping. Meanwhile, Katie and her family stood confidently, as they knew it was her pure talent that led her to victory.

To those who believed she was doped, Katie answered, “That’s totally false.” On the other hand, her mother replied, that her daughter doesn’t put a morsel in her system without checking the contents. “She won’t even take a multivitamin,” she said.

Despite all the allegations against the shining swimmer, she and her family stood their ground calmly and didn’t care about what people said. Her father reacted to the allegations and said, “The only thing she will test positive for is hard work.” Marie Gen added, “We don’t care if people say it. It doesn’t bother her.”

Ledecky after the 2012 London Olympics
Katie Ledecky impressively proved that the gold medal win in the 2012 Olympics wasn’t just a fluke. She established herself as one of the best swimmers in the world with her later performances. Katie clinched nine more medals after that. She won five medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics and four medals in the 2020 Olympics.

There is much more left in Ledecky’s career for now. She will be also competing in the upcoming Olympics and will be eyeing more medals in it.
