Have an interesting take?

With just one goal in mind—punching his ticket to Paris—missing out on the Tokyo Games was all the motivation he needed to push through in the final 50 meters. Shaine Casas got one step closer to his dreams by clinching silver with a time of 1:55.83. Even though he trailed behind Carson Foster, who clocked in at 1:55.65, coming in second probably didn’t sting as much! But despite this terrific win, many still have one question on their minds.

How rich is Shaine Casas?

Shaine Casas’ net worth, much like his accolades, has kept climbing over the years. In 2024, His net worth in 2024 is approximately $1.95 million. Like many athletes, he accumulates his wealth through various avenues such as competitions, endorsements, and public appearances. Around the time of the Tokyo Olympics, his net worth was close to $1.17 million.

At the 2023 Pro Swim Series in California, several swimmers walked away with prize money based on their wins. After getting through each round, Shaine Casas earned a total of $7,250. By the end of 2023, his net worth was estimated at $1.75 million. That year, he also signed on with Aquasphere as part of their Elite Athlete Roster.

As one of the first competitive swimmers to join the elite team, Casas had the chance to use their XCEED goggles for training and events. He also teamed up with Sporti to launch a Summer 2023 collection featuring bold colors inspired by ’90s fashion. The collection, which heavily featured swimwear, was designed to be stylish both in and out of the pool. “Inspired by the era’s light use of color and playful prints, this collection combines nostalgic design elements with modern features,” said Casas about his collaboration with the brand.

Major achievements of the swimming icon

Shaine Casas clinched gold at the 2019 National Championships in California with a time of 52.72 in the 100m backstroke, making him the fifth-fastest swimmer in the event and a national champion. Despite missing out on the Tokyo Games, he found success in backstroke races in 2021, winning a short course world title in the 100m and clinching silver in the 200m. He also qualified for the 200m backstroke at the World Championships in Budapest and brought home a bronze for Team USA.

In 2022, Casas proved he had what it takes by clocking in at 50.40 in the 100m butterfly at the U.S. Nationals in Irvine, California. He secured a spot on Team USA in the 400m freestyle relay, two years after his Tokyo Olympics heartbreak. However, at the 2023 World Championships, Casas couldn’t qualify for more than one event. He missed out on the 100m freestyle and 200m backstroke but clinched third place in the 100m butterfly.

He then shifted his focus to the 200 IM and barely made it to the eighth position to qualify. While he clinched silver with a time of 1:57.47, he only managed to secure fourth place in the event at the World Championships final. In 2023, Casas won the 100m butterfly in 50.80 at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Florida, tying with Michael Andrew, who set the Pro Swim Series record in 2021. But that wasn’t it for Casas.
