The European countries lining the Mediterranean Sea are the perfect spot for watersports. Tourists come to these regions to enjoy scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, etc. However, the recent news of an Israeli tourist’s tragic death in Malta has cast a shadow on the tourism industry. The 50-year-old diver lost his life in a diving accident off the coast of an island called Gozo. This recent incident involving an Israeli tourist comes in the backdrop of another freak accident that took the life of an Israeli girl last week.

In the last few months, other Israeli tourists vacationing in Europe died from unrelated causes. An Israeli man met with a fatal bike accident while vacationing in Greece in June, while an Israeli woman died in an ATV accident on the Santorini islands before that. The latest mishap involved a diving mishap, but the cause of the man’s death is still pending investigation.
